I'd offer a place but my flat is so small, even the moved out. Ask those who have visited!!!
Honestly, if you want company, happy to help out, even if you do come from the wrong side of Planet Thanet,, You are still a Thanutian. (my terminology)

You shouldn't in theory need a passport for France, you're a European citizen, *but* in the wake of all the security updates, it might be worth making sure. I wasn't asked for mine when i went back to UK on Eurostar a couple of years back. I'm sure if you phoned them or went on the website you could find out.
Don't forget, booze is ludicrously cheap here, i paid more today for a bottle of fizzy water than for wine! And i believe you can take quite a lot back. Plus cigs are cheaper, you might be able to subsidise a quick trip with orders from mates!
As for the rest, i am far from rich but if you're prepared to just eat whatever i summon up rather than expensive restaurant meals, all you're paying out for is the train.
Anyway, bear it in mind as a possible idea for a break.

Sorry Anoldgreymoonraker, wasn't thinking too straight last night.
And now I've got to go back to that infernal place. For the fist time in years I really don't want to go into work. Not good.

You'll be pleased to know that today was a much better day. I had a quiet chat with a couple peole, bridges were mended, hard feelings stamped on and harmony restored.
It felt like a huge weight had been removed.
