Ah! Mister D confirms all! About the laundromat? No, about the Mobius strip being a symbol for Infinity!! Of course!
You made a strip from paper? ..
...and asked your students to 'take a pencil and draw a line down the middle of the paper.'
They did: the line came back to meet itself, but traverse every surface of the paper. They liked the 'cutting it in the middle' bit, too. A good time was had. Minds were opened.'
Stares at the notes. The line came back to meet itself?! What's the cutting it in the middle bit? I'm going to try this...
Thanks, 'nutty but harmless', Prof you..
Will check the story about Professor Mobius, with the two dots over the o, naturally, your keyboard can do that, how does one internationalise a keyboard? Must find out.

Hey Jo(urnal)
Whilst doing a drizzle dance on the beach (in my new black fishtail parka), I wondered if an advanced civilization from another dimension was watching me.
So I swished the fishtail, paraded the parka.
No fashionista film directors have contacted me yet.
Oh no! The crow!
There had been a crow hopping around nearby.
Was it a shapeshifting agent of ill intent? From which dimension had it been sent?
Did it steal my look?
Perhaps, in another dimension, an advanced civilization are all now doing the swish-the-fishtail-black-parka-crow-dance.
Ah, but do they have drizzle in the place where they come from? Hah! The dance has no powers without it.
It'll fade with a fizzle, without the drizzle.
************end**************
Swish the fish(tail) fashionista mix////Fade with a fizzle? Poetic license?
mmmmm I just got a lightweight waterproof black fishtail parka style raincoat, it is sooooo amazing. I know I know the Mods wore fishtail parkas, (smiles cheesily at FWR who now won't do my cover art *ever* again)////Fishtail is the long flaps at the back. I look like a fish in it. Or possibly a crow////
Erm, OK so this is a true story. Even the hopping crow. People on the beach do smile at me when I dance in the drizzle, but the shapeshifting dodgy agent doesn't really exist. Or does he????

Hopping crows in the drizzle on the beach.
This is a lesson that no one can teach.
I can't take a trip
On a Mobius strip.
I'd fall off for sure, mark my speach.

A speech with a peach in it. A peach of a speech.
I had never heard of a fish-tail parka before.
'And the mermaids looked so beautiful as they swam around by the shore
But this merman with his fishy tail I've never seen before...'
That's 'The Merman' by the Wolfe Tones.

But can you ride a bike in a fish-tail parka, or does it get caught in the back wheel?
I've ruined skirts like that.

paulh, vaccinated against the Omigod Variant Posted Nov 21, 2020
Paul Lynde joked about wearing a leather jacket for biking, because crinoline loses its shape.

FWR Posted Nov 21, 2020
Thankfully mods don't ride actual bikes! Some kind of two wheeled Italian things I believe... Lol.
Oh dear, there goes my student base...

Take a trip on a Mobius strip. heheh. Nice line, paul. (plans to quote it at random. I'll credit you, obviously).
Peach speach
cactuscafe Posted Nov 22, 2020
Can one teach the peach speach?
Love the Merman song! Just checked up on The Wolfe Tones.
A Merman in a fishtail parka! Of course! This is now a story that will have to be, not written by me.
Tuck in the fishtail
cactuscafe Posted Nov 22, 2020
heheh. Interesting question, mvp. heheh. It was difficult at first, but I've found a way. Re the bike, the fishtail, the swervy nervy me.
If we ever get to meet for coffee ever again ah, let's hope oneday oneday, I'll give you a demo.
(imagines mvp disappearing up the main street, with borrowed (or possibly stolen) bike and parka))

Very fine, those two wheeled Italian things. I see a lot around here. Now I have the gear I might invest. I can put stickers on it, and go places.

Hey Jo(urnal)
Buttercup buttercup show me the way
Does your yellow light shine on a grey misty day?
I am thinking about buttercups.
Such a very yellow flower, with intensely shiny petals. Can artists recreate such shininess? On a sunny day in summer they even sparkle and glow, tiny beacons attracting insects from miles around to go forth and pollinate.
(s'cuse me this smiley is petunias).
According to folklore, if you held a buttercup under your chin, or the chins of your classmates, and saw a yellow reflection, it meant that you, or they, liked butter.
Even though I took part in this playground ritual, I was never one for folklore. It cluttered my young dreams with weird reasoning and fevered confusion.
Consequently, although I always feel joy when I see the first buttercups of summer, I have tended to avoid any in depth consideration of the flower with the yellow glow.
Now I ask the question, could we potentially have liked butter on cloudy days also, all those years ago? Or was the yellow reflection purely a sunny day treat?
I will have to wait till next summer to find out.
Ah. Apparently all ranunculus (buttercup) species are poisonous if eaten fresh.
Best not to go that far then. Even though I might, perhaps, like butter.

I do not know these fishtails of which you speak. But enjoy!
The Post is up.
The h2g2 Post is up and running at A87997027 - don't miss all the fun!
Willem starts a two-part photo essay on the Plight of Plants.
We have nature both beautiful and funny.
Tavaron and Paigetheoracle show us how to peek through another hole in history, visually.
We have a new Edited Guide-inspired country music song! This time, the Devil got sued! In a courtroom! (American lawyers will try anything, as you know from your Twitter feed.)
Sasha exhibits paintings, Awix waxes ironic, I rant, and the cartoonists tell jokes. B4, Paul, and Rosa tell stories.
That should hold you till we get a rope.
Key: Complain about this post
