Reds (sockeye) are the best tasting fish on earth. I attribute it to their diet, since they eat only plankton
Funny you should mention gray/white jellied stuff
A 76 year old man in Boca Raton had his rear window broken out in a burglary, His fishing tackle box was open on his bed The only thing missing wa two pounds of gray/white powder, his sister's remains. Police theorize that the intruder thought the powder was cocaine I guess a fishing tackle box might be a good resting place
Mrs. Phred and I saw the Hale-Bopp one clear winter night from a lonely beach on Chesapeake Bay A cult in California gathered up rolls of quarters and quietly committed mass suicide, believing that the end was near and that the conductor of the Hale-Bopp express would not take change
Hey Leo! What about a humouous EG Article on cult mass suicdes?

Under the bridge the dead are gathering.
What happened to the ferryman, his bag
of coins, his pity? In all this traffic
how can they cross these girders of steel
and starlight?

hmmm
oh I seeeeeee .. vegetarian fish ..
right ....
comet Hale Bopp .. I remember seeing a bright light in the sky sometime around '96 or '97 ?..... I think .... unless it was the headlights of the Intergalactic Express, which was cruising around Earth at the time, delivering donuts s and DVDs of El Topo to anyone who Believed ....
....
so these burglar dudes might have snorted a line of sister ... oh sister .. doesn't bear thinking about .. I saw a similar story once about some coke fiends who broke into a house and stole an urn of powder marked 'Charlie' .. and found that that their 'charlie' was in fact the ashes of the family hound ...
great poem, Phredster .. did you write it ? betcha betcha betcha it was you .....
El Topo is showing at the Exeter Picture House tonight ... but we can't get there, so I have just ordered on DVD ....I've never seen it ...
betcha you 60s cool dudes saw it at some midnight arthouse underground picturehouse ....
hands up who has seen El Topo

a golden Zen thought flutters in like an Autumn leaf, amongst the cult suicides and other unusual aspects ...
I love this variegated leaf that is life .. this multi textured life-leaf ...
......even though we're 8,000 miles from home .. ... yes, Hendrix is booked, but Michael McClure will be there ...... (hunger hunger) ...
what? I think I'm channelling some wandering road-writer here ..
what is the blessed Grace Slick up to these days I wonder ...
just been checking up on Adept Godrakpa, "Hermit of Go Cliffs" .... ..
Lyall Watson .... haven't heard his name in a while ... since the days of Supernature .. looks like he's written a few things since then .. ....
folks get out there, don't they .. kind of inspiring ....
(drinks coffee and considers going somewhere....)
(also slinks into Leo's PS to consider well earned shiny badges ....)
.. shiny and well deserved I'd say .. lordykid, you work hard .... ..... yay.
(takes another slurp of .... )
off up country again in the next week or so ..... we're doin' that family thing ....
better get some pandas and things in, while I can
birdie birdie
I'm into a pencil on torn paper obsession right now .. obviously preparing for the road .. strange little graphix that look like squashed zeros mixed with mushroomy things ... I'm also into a long running daydream about a very old lady called Rosa who lives in an old peoples' home somewhere in Southern Mexico ..
hmmm ....
what ????
help.

See shadow-slant of orange sun
Across the cactus-yard ....
A thousand secret whispers
Do make my life so hard.....
They call me in the eventide
They crowd my wrinkled mind....
I'm dying here in Mexico
My soul it does unwind ....
The sun is but an ember ...
The cactus-yard is dark....
Yet a thousand dusky shadows ....
Will never dim this spark ......
uh oh .. cactus-yard? what cactus-yard? don't tell me Rosa wrote this .. did she die already ? .. at the end there ..I only just met her ..
my mother was right .. I need either a life, or more protein ....
hmmmm
H ((don't call me Rosa ... yet)

I used to want to be Grace Slick. Or Joan Baez. Anyone remember her? Beautiful voice. And she knew Dylan.
What do I want these days? Don't have a clue. All I know is that I don't wnat what I have. Wanting what you have is the secret to happiness. Like most people, I've always wanted this intangible unknown whatever floating in the mist, just out of reach. It would help if I could even identify what it is.
Have to take life one day at a time. Tonight what I want is asparagus. A foot rub would be great, too. The asparagus is easier to come by.

Today I want halibut. Good thing we have a freezer full. I think I'll also grill a salmon for salads and sandwiches, later.
Googled the text of the bathroom scene in "Fear and Loathing" where Dr. Gonzo's Samoan Attorney pleads to have the radio thown in the tub, just when "White Rabbit" peaks...the language is not fit, of course, for h2g2...always think of this whenever I check into a hotel on deadline and order a dozen large grapefruit from room service.
He was born on the mountain's Eastern side
Where the sun brings the morning to the sky
If we will try to share that morning light
We will find that we all have the right to life
Oh Panda Bear--my gentle friend
I don't want to say goodbye
Oh Panda Bear--when will the killing end
When will we get it right?

awwwww ... little sneezy cub .. difficult not to anthropomorphise .....
whoah ... anthropomorphise? check that for a wordy word ...
hope it means what I think it does .. like putting (sometimes unrealistic) human sentiments onto animals, plants etc ...
In fact, I think I might just run away fast if I came face to face with a panda .. I'm such a pansy, I run if I come face to face with a snail, or a worm .. yet alone a rattlesnake or scary beary ...
....
yes, White Rabbit puts me into a strange trance when I listen to it .. and some of the other JA tracks .. I have the Surrealistic Pillow album .. listen to it over and over ...
oh Hunter S .. Hunter S ... where would we be now, if you had not graced this with your crazycrazy soul ..
a bit like William S. Burroughs, for me .. I couldn't say I am able to work my way through a lot of his writings, but I can't imagine the world without him having existed .... he inspires young writers and musicians to this day .. Someone once said that they perceived a strange blue light coming out from under the rim of his hat ... (or something like that ... not an accurate quote ... must research .. )
Joan Baez ... saw her interviewed on TV just a few months back .. she's still looking and sounding great....
<<<>>>>
This is a very thought provoking paragraph, Hyp luvvy ... wish I could close my eyes and be in Webb City right now ... to give you that foot rub, eat asparagus with you and discuss these things .. I feel geographically challenged .... need to work on my astral travelling ..
of course, it would be a marvellous start to a book ... above paragraph .. I'm hooked already ... care to write on ? or else send me asparagus ... by astral mail ...
I don't know if I have ever met my astral body .. what is the astral body ?.. fact or fiction .. (heads off to get and something completely non-vegan, to research the matter ... )
I can't remember having any female role models when I was younger..
I always wanted to be Leonard Cohen .. at one time I also wanted to be a brindled mongreldog named Daniel ... true ...
hmmmm
I need eggs .... ....
heads off to consider Grace's -poem ... or is this wandering astralbodied road writer photographer doing some ghost writing ....
exit pursued by a snail ...

We made a horrible mistake and paid for two tours here in Fairbanks. One is on a riverboat. Dozens of white cruise ship buses show up and disgorge hundreds of cruise ship passengers. It's deju vu all over again. We see little brindle dogs pulling dogsleds. One little dog named Daniel won the Iditorod dogsled race ten years in a row. We stop in a mockup Atathabasca Indian village and they proudly display ghastly pelts of every animal that grows here. I expected to see them pull out a Panda pelt. This morning we get on a little choo-choo and go to a gold mine called El Dorado...I'd rather be fishing. It's 65 degrees north Latitude here. It gets very cold in the winter.
Helen, you should spend the next month reading evertything Hunter S. ever wrote. Reading his wild and crazy thoughts has been one of my greatest pleasures in life.
Female role models? Joan of Arc, Sarah Conner and also the lady who fights the aliens in the "Alien" movies. Oh, Vera Lynn and Fay Wray...

Whatever happened to Fay Wray?
That delicate satin draped frame
As it clung to her thigh, how I started to cry
'Cause I wanted to be dressed just the same

Female role models.....Rosie the Riveter.....Eleanor Roosevelt.....cactuscafe, psychedelic desert poetess. We're all role models to someone. Scary thought.
Hey, I still have a copy of Surrealistic Pillow. Haven't played it for a while. I will probably dig it out tonight after work.
I am currently contemplating strawberries sprinkled with aged balsamic vinegar. I haven't tried it, but it is highly recommended. One of those odd combinations. Like mustard and Oreos. Which goes to show that life is filled with surprises. Sometimes things we desire seem perfect for us but turn out to be disappointing. Then someone comes along, spreads a bit of grey poupon on an Oreo, persuades you (against your better judgment) to take a bite and your senses just explode. Must be a moral there somewhere.
