Dungeons

I used to hang round (literally in a couple cases) h2g2 dungeons a while ago. Not so any more. It's somehow depressing to be replacing virtual punishment and voyeurism with work... smiley - sadface

And which is more painful? smiley - bigeyes

Tongue First

Just read a nice little book called "Tongue First" - woman does slightly unusual stuff, writes about it from standpoint of fashion, society. Kind of like travel-writing, I guess. For example, she shaved her hair off in a bid to understand how people reacted to that, and why hair is seen as important, and what it does to self-confidence.

Good book. Not moralistic, nor self-congratulatory - just thought-provoking. And it's again tempted me to get a tattoo, if only I can get my head round the permanence. Oh, and trade off the various internal desires over what and where it should be...

older, 'wiser'

23. Another couple of years before things start to go downhill. And time to face up to some demons, it seems. smiley - devil

Or maybe I've just been hit by an exhibitionist bug - it's airborne, you know... smiley - winkeye

Invalidation...

I was speaking to my sister about stuff, and she mentioned something she remembered when she was 2 1/2, and I said that there aren't any real memories from before 3 (4 in some people) cause of infantile amnesia, and she got somewhat defensive about it...

I didn't realise why until much later - by mentioning this, I'd invalidated something she believed in - part of her self-image. I, of all peoples, should have been able to recognise that. *sigh*

So I'm still no empath. What else is new?
