How many times have I told you not to ascribe too much importance to a randomly chosen number?

There's nothing random about twice on the trot
And here's another thing. My sister texted last night, I replied, and her reply I got *some text missing* love you x x x
I replied asking her to send again, no answer, so I went to bed. At 3.15am I heard my phone register a text, but I didn't bother to get up. Checked my phone this morning and at 1.19am I got another *some text missing* love you x x x and at 1.20am the full text was there. Nothing came in at 3.15am.

I think that's because if you send a text that is too big, it splits it up into two texts. If one of the two gets delayed, you see "Some text missing" on the other one. When the missing one arrives, the phone just pastes it into the original message, it doesn't show it as a second message, although it will beep to acknowledge receipt of the missing text.

I usually find that the full text arrives at the second attempt.
Sounds like it was a nice message anyway, which doesn't suffer from being repeated

Just managed to have the planned lunch with my sister today when Mum got an ambulance ordered by the Beacons, she fainted on her way to the dining room the ambulance arrived at the same time we did so I accompanied Mum in the ambulance and Yvonne went in her own car. L-o-n-g day in A&E but thank goodness they didn't keep her in and she's now back at the Beacons with antibiotics doing their work.
Time for bed for little me

My younger brother Rob and his wife Rachel also visited today, and while we were catching up, our older brother rang on the Beacons landline to have a chat with Mum. I took the phone back when she said goodbye, he'd been on the blower for 6 minutes. They have just (on Friday) returned from a Caribbean cruise. I would have spent a lot more time on the phone than that

GB, that's men for you. My hubby always passed the phone over to me ater a couple of sentences no matter who it was, even if it was the kids and he had been asking after them!!

RANT ALERT!
I had to go to the Diana hospital this morning to collect the remainder of the meds the prescribed on Saturday, they kept me waiting over 30mins so I had to pay the carpark fee on leaving
When I arrived at the Beacons about 10.30, I walked through to Mum's living area and passed 3 staff sat at one of the dining tablets, the 2 women were having a chat and the bloke was texting on his mobile. When I walked into Mum's room, she's fast asleep sat in her chair, nursing a sick bowl on her lap.
I grabbed the bowl, flew back to the dining area and slammed it down onto the table. "Please could we have a fresh bowl?" I almost felt sorry for the poor chap who dropped his mobile phone and jumped up so quickly that his chair fell backwards. The other two disappeared and came back with a tray of tea for two, me and Mum. The poor dear had brought back her breakfast and when I left at lunchtime she told the caterer that she didn't want any lunch as she wasn't hungry. I begged her to have some soup and she said she would. On the way out I went to the office (the 3 on-duty must have been crapping themselves when they saw me heading there) but I mentioned I was concerned about Mum's weightloss. No problem Vi's daughter, we'll put her on a high-fat, high-calorie diet. I can't believe nobody has flagged this up, they've been weighing her every day but doing nothing about the weightloss?

Well done on slamming the bowl down! Keep them on their toes!
Just because some patients are quiet and say they aren't hungry, doesn't mean the don't need food and care
Now let's hope they realise you *will* be checking up on this.

Good on you GB. Eating is a dreadful effort when someone is not feeling well but you cannot force them, so you have to find other ways to give them nourishment. Too many hospital and care staff just accept what a person says and do nothing, as I found to my cost.

Every time I see "Mum Update" appearing in my conversation list, it brings back to me that I will not be posting any more "Dad Updates".
But this is a pain I have to live with. I'm keeping your conversation in the list because I have to know how you are doing.
