So far he's got to Manchester Airport, and returned, and to our local railway station, and returned. I've got disconnected twice while writing this which is probably Dad ringing to find out where I am,

Katsy, did you know there's another band called the Dum-Dums? (please don't scold me if I've mis-spelled something... as it's not polite to dis-respect your elders.) Thanks for the tunes. They've really got something! Please save your money Dear. I may buy them at some later time...I'm not in a hurry to hear more. I have my own favorites. Just now I've been listening to Yo-Yo Ma. Not something I'd think you'd like. I have a wide range of musical tastes. I like jazz, Big Band (Glenn Miller esp!),
and 'Long Hair' (classical), then, of course; PINK FLOYD!!!
When 'Floyd' was last here in concert...my not then Husband let me talk him into helping me "vandalize" an old steel bridge not far from our Village. (neither of us had ever done anything like this in the past, as we saw it , illegal, & stupid! (maybe that's one of the reasons it's illegal) It ws Fall. I was not well. Dr.'s had told me I'd be dead before Winter was over. So, I was damned well going to do something stupid...just for grins. We went to the local hardware store (which I 'd like to mention is totally cool, as it is entirerly run by women...which can totally chape a fellow & his fragiale male ego to have to 'ask a woman' for help.. )! But I digress. We bought Glow Pink spray paint! I demanded to be taken to an old bridge my friends (25 years ago) & I would party on. I worte all over the bridge (very carefully)...PINK FLOYD (with a varity of concert date info. etc.) My Dr. was working to stablize me enough to actually be able to GO to the concert...silly, but when you're on the brink of death & you have a chance of being at a concert, in the hospital, or home, in bed...if you know me all all, you understand my goal...'don't worry be happy'! (Toward the end, Bear had to paint the last few letters for me...which was quite touching really...he thought I wsa going insane from the EMS-
(Eosiniphiligia-Myaliga-Syndrom). NOT! Girls just want to have fun.)
A couple days after the wonderful concert, my Dr. had checked me over & I was faring well. As I was writting the check to the receptionist...she said to me,"Val, how could you paint that old bridge next to my parents house like that?" I was so stunned I was flabergasted! I stammered some lame reply, only to be met with the same shock of realization from Jennifer! She looked at me and said, "I was just kidding! You mean to tell me YOU are the actual person who wrote PINK FYOYD on the bridge?!?" I told her the truth & we both had a good laugh. She commented on how nicely it was done, etc. Then went on to say that some "Hill-Jack" wrote over it in black:'SUCKS' She said her parents had enjoyed seeing the bright pink lettering but was not thrilled about the addition. So, once again I forced Bear to go buy several tins of dark green paint...the original color from 30 odd years ago. I sat in the car & watched him for hours...painting that old bridge! One car came slowly by & they smiled & waved. No doubt related to Jen's parent or at least knowing what was 'up'. It was so cold! Bear kept saying,"I can't belive I'm doing this! First you talk me into vandalizing a bridge & in the middle of Winter you've got me, out here, freezing my ass off to make it all pretty!"
Later Jen did tell me her parents sent their thanks! They said they felt young again, as that's the way the bridge looked when they were frist married & living there. ~Pan

LOL!!! I was giggling while reading that! Over here there's a new heavy metal group my brother is into called VAST and all around town someone has written it on walls! Some grafitti is so funny! I cant think of any now but........

Uh, how can there be another Dum Dums? I mean...Westlife were originally called Westside but there already was an American band called that so they had to change it to Westside....weird!

ON THE JAMES ONE HE ACTUALLY WROTE "TO ESTI" AND MATTY'S ONE HE WROTE "BE GOOD", AND MATT WAS EVER SO FUNNY COS WHEN I GAVE HIM THE PIC TO SIGN HE SCREAMED "OMG HOW DID I LOOK ON THAT DAY!!!!"

Reading this thread really made my day. The things you (Pandora and Katsy) have in common. Just think about it.

I think we've come a long way.

Aww thanx mate! I've changed a lot now though, I've got rid of the glasses and dyed my hair bright red, adopted a new hairstyle and that includes having a few dreadlocks hanging down the side, and I feel a lot better for it..except the hair clip...me and Ally (my friend, who's also on h2g2, she came with me to see Skandal the other day), we had our pics taken with Skandal, except it was the whole group this time, and whoever it was behind me, I think it was Matt and Matty, I kept banging them with my hairclip, then as I walekd away it fell out! Like....embarrasing or what???
