Thank you, Christiane! I feel very flattered.
I'm always trying to cook as well as possible. The supermarkets have something they call "cooking wine," but I stopped using it because it had too much added salt. So now I go to liquor stores once or twice a year, and buy chablis if I can find it for a good price. The red wines I might buy include burgundy, sherry, and madeira. I think I tried a white germaan wine once, and it worked fine, too.
Yes, Pierce cooking without alcohol is suspect and should be looked into.

it is a golden rule that you should never be stingy when cooking with wine. many think they can get away with a cheap bottle, but you should always cook with the same wine you serve with the food
