It has taken me from Paul's post at 252 to now to notice that he changed the subject. Good job I'm not driving.
I've just returned from a very pleasant evening with my family, where I was forced at the point of a Sabatier knife to eat a three course meal, with a jolly bottle of . I could have refused the pudding, but it was homemade Belgian waffles, with hot caramel sauce and homemade vanilla icecream.
There goes another waistline inch.
Why oh why does food like this have to taste so good?

The war against the bulge cannot be won unless all the little battles go well. That, alas, is how things are. Something as innocent as a turkey sandwich can throw me off because eating that much bread at a time primes me for snacking on candy the next day, and then further and further down the primrose path.
I was wearing my tightest pants today, and held myself together as best I could. I cut back on the chocolate cake by only eating half as much as I otherwise would have. Problem: this left me hungry. I had a chicken burrito with guacamole for supper, and the black beans and cheese in it have restored the balance. I think I'll be okay now.

I like this new title Paul - it reminds me of an advertisement that used to run over here.
Something like 'Are you suffering with night-time starvation?' The answer to this invented problem was a milky drink - maybe Ovaltine?

I rarely feel hunger when I'm in bed, but I'm often thirsty. The drink they advertized sounds like a step in the right direction.

I was very good today and drank sparkly water with lunch, even though I was offered a glass of wine.
Now I have a headache Why?

A headache? Is the pollen count high? Have you been reading books with tiny print? Did you agonize over the sparkly water? Did you eat Chinese food laced with MSG? Do you have a history of migraines?

Pollen? No it's way too bleak for that just now.
I hardly ever get a headache - but sometimes do if I drink white wine. I've still got it this morning as well, btw. It's just one of those things.

I was in Bristol! Back now!
We had fun - and saw a lovely ship Pierce. The replica of the Matthew.
I didn't have my camera, else I would have got Robyn to stand aboard and take a photo of her.

to you too Paul - thanks!
I'm sorry, but I don't think AlsoRan visits my journals, but she would be welcome if she did. I don't come across her very often.

She got scolded by several people the day after the new signin system took effect. She has not been back since. I am sorry to lose her.
