Coronavirus Outbreak!
Posted Mar 6, 2020
On the afternoon of Monday 2nd March 2020, I was waiting at my bus stand in our bus station for heading for home after my usual shopping day.
I was talking with a lady neighbour who lives at the top of my street and she informed me that she’d just been in one of our local “cheapo” shops. She found that they had sold out of toilet roll
Now this store has usually stacks of the stuff in and to have empty areas ? Sort of baffling etc.
But! Knowing how due to the current outbreak of the “new coronavirus” “panic buying of surgical masks and hand sanitizers etc” are in short supply and being rationed because of supply to demand.
Brings me to mind of a “set up” I and some friends “carried out” many years ago in a local supermarket – to show! How stupid certain individuals of the “general public” are easily duped!
The time/day was a Saturday morning/afternoon, as “we” had our regular “drinking session” in the towns pubs (bars) commonly known as a pub-crawl as such
“we” decided to “conduct” an experiment on “human behaviour”
and went to one of our local supermarkets, where one of us went to the shelves, where the usual types of “table” peppers were stacked and took about 10 to 20 “shakers” of pepper and put them into our trolley, as we did this another mate followed closely and asked Why ? Are you doing this as which the first one said – there’s going to be a world shortage of pepper and I’m stocking up! This prompted the 2nd mate to do the same. (get the drift)
This was repeated by the rest of us, making sure that anyone nearby heard…
We then walked around the aisles and put back the “peppers”
But as there were a good few of us doing it, the “word” soon got round the supermarket of a world shortage of pepper.
Low and behold! The shelves emptyed fast and “we” high tailed it out of the supermarket before we were caught out!
BUT! Just to show, that after that episode during the 1970’s – nothing has changed – Panic Buying is STILL a state of lack of human intelligence.
“THEY” Will never understand that panic buying CAUSES many of the problems that need NOT be there in the first case!

Beyond human comprehension.

Scientists, Astronomer’s etc say there are more Galaxies in the universe, than there are grains of sand on every beach on the planet Earth added together, not counting deserts and arid places etc.
That is a figure that is nearly impossible to imagine, whether to “see” it as a number or as a visual image.
But! I’ll bet that “mankind” has more questions and unanswerable answers tenfold to that.
And whereas in The Hitch-hikers Guide to the Galaxy – the Deep Thought episode, of 7.5 million years and then 10 million years, for the ultimate answer to life, the universe and everything “was going to be answered”
I reckon that no matter how long mankind lives/exists or where (in the universe)
The same amount of questions WILL remain unanswered!

How many ? is the question.

The chain is a unit of length equal to 66 feet (22 yards). It is subdivided into 100 links or 4 rods. There are 10 chains in a furlong, and 80 chains in one statute mile. In metric terms, it is 20.1168 m long.
We all know that a "usual" CHAIN consists of links
But! How many links does it take ? to count as a chain ?
2 links - 3 links ? more ? and has this poser been discussed at university and academic levels to determine, or even government levels ? to specify an answer ?
Open question to H2G2 Researchers (us lot)

Blame anything but the denim!

Undress at anytime (bedtime or shower etc) and your denim jeans slide off dead easy, as you remove them the same way each and every time.
BUT! have a little drink and they stick to your legs and your having to od'on to something to keep your balance, while removing them.
Work that one out scientists!! I can't

If only this could be used as a simple template by countries, instead of warring against anything you don't agree with.
--------
Had this passed to me...
--------
Before a father passed away, he left in his will that 17 Camels be used as an Asset for his Three Sons.
On his passing, his sons opened up the will.
The will of the father stated that the eldest son should get half of 17 camels, the middle son should be given 1/3rd of 17 camels and the youngest son should be given 1/9th of the 17 camels.
As it is not possible to divide 17 into half or 17 by 3 or 17 by 9, the sons started to fight with each other.
So, they decided to go to a wise man.
The wise man listened patiently about the will. The wise man, pondered and then giving this thought, brought one camel of his own and added the same to 17. That increased the total to 18 camels.
Now, he started reading the deceased father’s will.
half of 18 = 9.
So he gave 9 camels
to the eldest son.
1/3rd of 18 = 6.
So he gave 6 camels
to the middle son.
1/9th of 18 = 2.
So he gave 2 camels
to the youngest son.
Now add this up:
9 + 6 + 2 = 17 &
This leaves 1 camel,
which the wise man took back.
MORAL: The attitude of negotiation & problem solving is to find the 18th camel i.e. the common ground.
Once a person is able to find the common ground, the issue is resolved. It is difficult at times.
However! To reach a solution, the first step is to believe that there is a solution.
If we think that there is no solution, we won’t be able to reach any!
