As I write the story, I have to figure out how much hokum and implausibility I can use without making the story seem like total nonsense.

Now I'm working on a tale that concerns a geezer who discovers he has suppr powers when he is 85.

NOT the "fart in a jacuzzi man"

I've never heard of him before.

The one I have in mind admits that his super powers include flying, but he rarely does, as landing is hard on his knees. He controls the villains with mind control: he stares into their eyes and gives them temporary senile dementia.

I know the feeling. I've occasionally been accused of being somewhat autistic. I'll readily agree the accusations are somewhat correct. Not least, it throws me into a state of mental turmoil and confusion that all but reduces me to screaming (only rarely really does) when I'm concentrating on a task at hand and I'm interrupted before I complete it.

Then, superimposed on the 'program' already running, I've got another competing for space and time.

I compensate sometimes by means of secluding myself and refusing to acknowledge interruptions. I won't answer the door, I turn off the phone and I won't go out unnecessarily. In turn, I am next accused of indulging in 'monumental sulks'. If that's what people want to call it, that's fine with me, just so long as they respect my need for a little solitude.

Having been interrupted, next I suffer from a little transient difficulty recapturing the thought train I was pursuing before and suffer considerable anxiety on the score. However, if I relax and kind of let it flow, usually it comes back pretty readily. Then I have to quell feelings of resentment over having been interrupted in order to concentrate.

When I get stressed out, my concentration goes out the window, and I forget what I'm doing. The other day when I was in the sueprmarket, I had my wallet in my left hand so I could pull my shopping list out of it. Then I felt my right pocket with my right hand, and realized that my wallet seemed to be missing. Had I just been robbed? It took a moment to realize that the wallet was safe in my *left* hand!

...happens to me all the time...

There was no reason why only one snake could be in the Garden of Eden. There were animals, and they were of both genders.

I don't understand the point about snakes versus squirrels. Squirrels aren't particularly interested in apples, except that they like to eat the seeds. The snake in question, however, was a very fine pastry chef whose apple pies had won prizes.
