Adam and Eve are not necessarily English names. They exist wholly or in close variations, in other languages as well. Apparently no one had to "teach" them language, because they came into existence speaking some sort of language. If you believe the Judaeo-Christian Bible's account, those are givens. If you don't, then evolutionary theory is available as an explanation, as well as origin stories in other religions and cultural mythologies. I personally think evolution has the best handle on it, but who knows how warmly that theory will be regarded 500 years from now?

all present day religions will go the same way as the Roman/Greek/Viking gods etc have, but in each era, those people like today's believers can't be called liars that their "god" doesn't/didn't exist.
But being an atheist and not believing in any form of god/s, I will still not call them liars because I do believe in each "man" to his own beliefs and can live along side them peacefully

I believe that we are made with the capacity to feel the need for deep spiritual truths. Atheism is also a spiritual position of a sort. Maybe there is a different plane of existence where reality seems clearer.

It took me decades, but I finally figured out what made the early Roman Empire open to the idea of an immortal god, which eventually opened the way for widespread adoption of Christianity as the official state religion. It started when the emperors like JNuklius Caesar and his nephew Octavian (a.k.a. Caesar Agustus) died. The populace deified them, regarding them as immortal. When ordinary people die, they can (and usually are) forgotten sooner or later. It's different with gods, who are immortal and therefore still "alive." So, if you want to make sure that someone with special qualities willo be remembered, you try to have that person designated as an immortal. If Jesus had not been designated as the Son of God, would his memory have been kept alive? Not all that likely, as there were other people around who also preached some pretty good stuff.

We come into the world hoping to make some sort of mark and fulfill our potential. Sooner or later, we realize how big the world is, and how unspecial we are. What can we do about this? Well, one option is to join a religious sect that promises immortality. We may not become famous or rich in this life, but eternity is ours...

I like that option, too many will not open to any other than their own belief, it doesn't hurt to listen and then one can choose either or a blend, as many religions have/are blends


to me, when the electrical spark goes, so does everything else that we are. I'd like to be remembered in some form (a deity type methinks), but after I've gonewhat difference does it make

as you know me, I'll make fun out of everything and anything, but never out of disrespect, humour only. So even with "god's", open minds are invaluable in gaining as Paul says - truth,insight and wisdom + more humour of course

That's an interesting point about "eternal life" having neither beginning nor end. Most of us think of ourselves as not existing before we were born/conceived, so the possibility of living forever after doesn't qualify as eternity. We had a finite beginning point, so we're not eliginle.

like the question, How long has "space, the universe and the blackness being there" ? some say nothing was there before the big bang, but even nothing, a void is something

What I wonder is whether the stuff coming out of the Big Bang came out all at once, or continued coming out to the rpesent day?

I don't think god came out of itbecause that WOULD have meant HE'D been created
