with my luck if i did any welding i would manage to glue bits of me together that shouldn't be joined "let no man put asunder" BUt would no doubt "solder on"!!!

As for you don't have to contribute regularly so you could probably just send shazz what you have & she will chuck 'em out as & when; it's just i think they deserve a wider audience & it's a really good way to get more involved in hootoo & pretty satisfying to realise you have "become a writer for the BBC online". You get a pretty green badge for your space too!

You can copy them off here & then email them direct, hang on, i will email you with the address of shazz & you talk to her, explain you are a newbie & mate of mine, she's very nice & will tell you exactly what to do. Xmas might mean nothing will happen till the New year though.

Dream! Tomorrow's only Reality.


Sun is setting, the closing of the day,
what will tomorrow bring if I awake.
Will the skies be red, the smell of death in the air.
Continents destroyed, consumed in war.
Peace, a dream in my mind, will it become a reality.
Something that once was before the time of man.
How many will be using its name as a cause.
Will the land flourish as nature intended,
am I wishing for something that's impossible.
Or will man realise the mistake's he's making.
Extinction of life is the only destiny for us,
sooner to kill than give a helping hand.
Sun is setting, the closing of the day,

Should I never awake, shall I see peace,
or will man follow me to carry on the torment.

My thanks my Lady, I will be going out for a drink later and taking my two teenagers with me( might buy them one), so I will not be calling in THE bar tonight

To ride a dream.

The journey's begun,
the magic carpet soars above the clouds.
Its destination unknown to me.
Every trip reaches new realms of wonder,
mystic forces guide with unseen hands.
Time does not exist, day and night cease to function.
Tension is a word from the past.
My mind, at last free of the shackles,
to touch all points of the universe.
Reaching out, where the body can not go,
until the moment of joining.
When body and soul unite again,
once more to awake in solid form.
The mortal world becons, but only for a few hours.
Then time will cease again and I with the universe will be as one.
In a land, I wish was reality.

Time Lapse.

The future of our planet fills me with dread.
For the poor still fight the battles and die,
watching arms dealers will rejoice.
The propaganda shall be, for righteousness and god.
Euthanasia on large scale, with profits.
What will the rich do, when all the poor have gone.
Shall they test tube a new breed of lesser morals.
Will they fight amongst their selves,
with no one to build their guns, will wars end.
Can man survive to see the final outcome.

Time is now.

Tomorrow is only a day away.
Yesterday was tomorrow, but its gone after today.
Even to day will be gone tomorrow,
yesterday will still be there though.
Last week used to be next week,
when the week before was this week.
They say 'time flys',
But I've seen hours go by, waiting for a minute to pass.

We are here to stay.

Our birth was on a fertile land,
the reason of our being still unknown,
thousands of years we sweat and toil and milliard times our lives were taken.
We will not yeild nor bow or break,
for we are mankind and shall not move.
Are we alone, a question unanswered but hear our voice, we speak as one.
We came on land and water fair,
where we bear the pain of suffering together.
Many questions, no answers due, for nature we can not tame.
Our breath doth feed the cycle, that life has given this world.

I am sensing many themes and running counterpoints. Possibly alternative subject matter? But then suggesting that would be rude and against the creative process so I shall shush.

true criticism is never rude, but I'm lost on that!, I just write,I don't look at the finer points/correctness

Who are we.

We are but grains of sand, in the vastness of the universe.
blown by the winds of space, on a journey never able to finish.
For we are bent on self destruction, aided by mother nature herself.
Mankind in all his so called wisdom, has thrown the balance in disarray.
The quest for greed and power, rob's him of his self dignity.
Always blinded to the needs of others, he will kill many who stand in his way.
But take thought for the future mankind, when one day you will cease to exist.
No one to read your historical legacy, nothing but dust will remain in your place.

Ode to a lovely lady.....


She speaks wisdom, without hearing a sound,
her words read silent, but listened to with intent.
Though many miles away, she is close by,
to knock on her door asking advice.
Is a thing I would do on the morrow.
Her face is a vision, yet to behold,
a mother to more than her own.
To know this lady and be called a friend,
my heart is filled with joy.
For who is this angel in a far away place,
that's easy to say! it's Lil!!.....

This first one is to Lil's mother, who passed away 9th March 2005


I saw her..
I reached out
It was her!
I have no doubt....


She looked round
She smiled at me.
With a twinkle in her eye
Her face full of glee!


She laughed and ran....
She moved further away.
I tried to catch up
and I will one day.


Just smile if you see her.
Never be glum...
She won't harm you
That lady is my Mum.

I Ponder...


I sit and wait.... I ponder
I should really look
'Ere for I wander
into life's little nooks
and crannies.... I ponder


What might I see as I wander?
A child crying in the garden
The boy next door revving his Honda
His mother begging her neighbours pardon
as the noise fades away... I ponder


I sit and wait .... I ponder
for that someone to take note
"Absense makes the heart grow fonder"
"Out of Sight" another wrote
aaahh well.. Still I sit, I wait, I ponder

I also did this prayer for a young friend of mine.
