[I'm quite fond of "Das Lied von der Erde" and "Kindertotenlieder." Mahler excelled at vocal music. His instrumental music bores me, but I tolerate his symphonies because so many of them start or end with choral or solo vocal music. Alma was not only Mahler's wife, but also a composer in her own right.]
