Bob, you are an unbelievably brave and wise person - the strength it must have taken to experience so much pain and suffering, and to then write about it, astounds me. That you were able to step in where the rest of your family couldn't is just amazing - for what it's worth, I'm sorry that you had to go through so much crap to get to where you are today

Oh, Mike... I mean, I knew, but it hit me harder today... My mom's friend just passed away from breast cancer yesterday, and she was on a morphine drip too that they couldn't turn up... ... Too close for comfort right now...

I don't know that email addresses would help, really... the lady (and thus her family) is Amish, a sect of Christianity that's unique to the US (I think) that doesn't believe in using electricity/telephones/cars/etc. That's the main reason this happened: she didn't start chemo early enough. But if it seems appropriate, I'll let them know there's someone that has gone through something similar, just so they know they're not alone.
