Sorry - it's not really my turn but I had to wait to meet someone from the untied states this morning and so, wrote this.
War on Terror
When told ‘you're either with us or against us’
Americans tremble with fear and so thus
Religion becomes a strong tool in your hand
Op’ng the way for a fanatical band
Nurtured long on a cult of persecution
The puritan’s fear of any solution
Everyone frightened and everyone queasy
Rant on and on so that all are uneasy
Remember to say that God is on your side
Osama - Beelzebub personified.
Rendition anybody who makes a fuss.

Just to keep things going - the thread has dropped off the bottom of the page!!
Flatulence
Farting – or rather – the breaking of wind,
Leaves ladies red-faced, as though they have sinned
Always guaranteed to bring on a smirk
Terrible if they drop one while at work
Unless of course you’re a rugby fan, where
Lighting them is an expected affair
Even small babies cannot help but smile
Nonagenarians will grin with guile
Can emission of hydrogen sulphide
Ever be something we don’t all deride.

Lonely poetic writer lament
On where in the world the others have went
Nobody about with whom to chat
Everyone's gone, don't know where they're at
Leave me a poem, I'll write one for you
You're not all alone, as I'm in here too

Teaching
Truculent students are teachers’ real bain,
Each of them causing degrees of concern,
Always something about which to complain,
Couldn’t they just sit there quietly and learn.
Haven’t they got something far better to do,
Instead of making the teacher’s life hell,
Never, relenting their hullaballoo
Grant relief please with the sound of the bell.

Promoting the culture and codes
Of all of the companies varied desires
Like internal systems and modes
Intent on a business every officer admires
Corporate aiming to tap into lodes
Yet cashing them all in as each one retires

Sorry all for lack of posts (No great loss).
By the way I must heartily Yogabiker's entryon "LONELY". Very touching. PBS, what can I say - brilliant as always.
Solemn feeling,
A trickle of salt falls down my face
Darkness envelopes me, like
Night over my being.
Eventually to myself I will
Sing a sad song, like a haunting last

Gone for a spin
On the highway strip
Leaving behind
Drudgery's grip
Welcoming in
Immense grin 'cross the lip
Ne'er equal to find
Gleaming, brown and gold ship

Ode to the Risen Sun
One day as sun brought in the dawn,
Dampened earth lay cool and still
Enchanting, small – a tiny bird
Took rest upon my window sill,
Oh how it sang so sweetly
Trills - carefree and so gay,
How soon it seemed my troubles
Eased and slipped away.
Ringing tunes of far off lands
Inspired by laughter and of fun,
So it seemed its very trilling,
Egged on the rising sun.
Now I stirred beneath the sheets
Slowly crept out of bed,
Upon which I shut the window
Neatly crushing its f…ing head.
(The idea is not 100% original. Adapted from Ode to Morning by marnoult on another thread)

Insecurity
In times of stress, when things go wrong,
Night’s small dark hours are far too long,
Sunrise seems hours and hours away,
Each minute seems like one whole day.
Could we but sleep and dream of years,
Untroubled by irrational fears,
Recall those days more provident,
Inspiring us – strong - confident,
They seem so very long ago,
Yet now they’re gone – I just don’t know.

For those who still dare to dream
Uncertainty forever does loom
Craning its neck to meet their eyes
Killing time, preparing their doom

And on the same sort of yikable lines
Men sometimes feel need for relief
And take themselves in hand
Surveying sensuous images
That make them feel ‘just grand’
Unlikely postures - foam filled busts
Revolve before their eyes,
Beat their meat
And wanly greet
Their shrew-like frigid wives
Except one hammondorgan
Recalcitrant and rude
Sarcastic and quite frankly – very, very rude
A bit of a cheat as the last line should be two - I hope I AM FORGIVEN.

Yelbakk Posted May 16, 2006
In dreams as deep as mellow eyes
A hope lay, lost to sight
My breath slowed down, and heavy sighs
Forever haunted the night
Oh! dream of love, oh! hope of hopes
Rekindle your sweet embrace
Give strength to the girl on southern slopes
In search of happy days
Verily! My step did stumble
Eternally my life will crumble
No sign of better ways

Yes, good postings! The more the Merrier!
Men and women happily dance
Every second filled with
Rolling laughter and
Rowdy debauchery.
You can't help but enjoy it!

Coursing
Can you imagine any closer to nature
Outside in the sun with a bloody great lurcher
Up in the morning – out with the lark
Rabbits all grazing as though it was dark
Stealth is essential, walk slowly and still
Incline a hand slightly to show what you will.
Now goes the dog – with the drop of the hand
Gone is the rabbit - but breakfast is grand.
