Acrostic Poems

Delving into increased regression
Ever deeper states of recession
Peering over an endless abyss
Reliving so vividly times such as this
Even the people who try to bring cheer
Scarcely abate all the things that I fear
Sometimes awash in the horror of night
I cover my head and I hide 'til daylight
Over and over and over I cry
Negating the days of my life 'til I die

Hey, this thread has revived
I wrote one on depression some time ago. I don't know if it was ever posted here - if so - sorry.
Depression (2)
Depending on the way we feel
Events can seem somewhat unreal
Pervasive thoughts invade our minds
Repressive things of many kinds
Especially in the mid of night
Satanic thoughts our mind doth blight
Sometimes we pray for break of day
If only night would go away
Oh that the sun will shine once more
Night’s dreaded fears sleep evermore.

To someone who will give a dam
However low his target sinks
A grateful fool I truely am
Now the time has come, methinks
Keep ye well thy open heart
Should I again to fall apart

A word for an odd form of poetry,
Coming from the ancient Greeks,
Requiring the odd but different skill,
Observed in strange poetic geeks,
Some say they're like a crossword,
Though I can't quite see the link,
I think they're often quite absurd
Cheers, pour yourself another drink.
Put three words
On each line
Easy if you
Make it rhyme

Prevent the masses from knowing your motives
On cross-country trips upon locomatives
Let them all think that you're in it for them
Inspire with fear for those whom you condemn
Tell tall stories of your love for the nation
Invent usefull factiods without hesitation
Claim virtue and honour, and wisdom to see
Show that no other is better than (s)he

Wrongfully Engaged
Artificially Inflated
Rather Unnecessarily Destructive
I know its lame, but had to do something to kickstart this convo again!

Conservative
Concerned only with power and money
Overpowering the meek with brute force
Never sparing a lie if it's handy
Slippery words by the bushel, of course
Envious of the poor for their morsels
Relishing all they can take
Violence preached toward the humble
Animosity for what little we make
Tyrannical, wealthy, mudslingers
In the cause of each nickle to steal
Vengeance to each little person
Eeking out enough bread for a meal

Hello all!
It's great to be back in H2G2 and on the acrostics page! I'm so glad others have kept this up, and that somehow this thread survives! Hi to you, Yogabiker, to all new contributors, and to you, Pedantic Bar Steward in particular, if you're still out there. In any case, hope you're all well!
Reunion brings
Enjoyment after long
Time passed, like
Unexpectedly
Reopening an old book to find a
New chapter
Well, yes, it's terrible :P, but I couldn't go not posting an acrotic, could I! Also, it's good to have freeform acrostics once in a while

Elation at returning old chums
Nectar from over-ripe plums
Our lovers' embraces
Joy-covered faces
You wink as you're raising two thumbs

So cold that it's brittle and hard
No one wants to go into the yard
Outside it's just over our knees
When will we be free from this freeze?
