ARISE FROM THE DEATH OF SLEEP
Awake! Sleep shall be no more
Return to life and breath
In sleep there is no breathing
Surely breathing without thought is death
End it and arise!
For day is dawning
Remembering its strength and powers
Overcoming night and weakness
Mustering consciousness
Today
Here and now
Earth shall be regained
Dreams shall be conquered
Eve shall win the day and
Adam, poor thing, shall return to his place
To see the new day of
Here and now
On and on, without struggle there can be no thought
Fight sleep, dream, and unconsciousness
See the early red of day
Let it fill your heart
Escape from the tormentor's keep
Erase the vision that dreams
Produce, and arise from death of sleep
Y. (I need to read Blake again, it helps...)

Renditions
Relapsing into paranoia,
Expecting more attacks,
New World’s imported citizens,
Do things that really smack.
Instead of asking questions
To those that they suspect
Instead they use ‘rendition’
Of which scant is ever said.
No one believes them any more
So the Untied Straits has hit the floor.

Do you believe that there's life after death?
Undecided what follows last breath?
Never knowing for sure
Not buying the lure
Of certainty grounded in faith

Nicely put together
Intelligent and witty too.
Clean and concise
Elegant and wise (haha... rhyme! lol)
Only someone as
Nifty as you can
Eulogise so nicely.
!
??? Dont know what eulogise means... sounded good though.

Eulogise - a really funny word
Usually spoken – seldom heard.
Long winded form of eloquent praise,
Oh that I could repeat the crime
Get my doggerel all to rhyme
Is this what this thread’s all about?
So be it - only let me out.
Especially as I have been through quite enough?

OK - here's one to be getting on with:
Spheksophobia (fear of wasps)
Some people have irrational fear,
Phobia of things that others hold dear,
However hard they try and control,
Each incident leaves them in a hole,
Killer wasp or swarming bees,
Scare to death, some of these,
Occasionally the very sight,
Produces such a state of fright,
Hallucenagenic trances cause,
Obsessive shaking, without pause,
Besides the normal fear of dying
It might be said they should be trying
Another way wasps avoiding.

People who make the littlest
Even the tiniest of errors
Drive them mad
And we know that there's
Nothing but perfection for
The good ol' faithful pendant

Doomed! yes that's what
I yelled as the sky came down.
Steaming rocks hitting the ground.
Another time it was an earthquake, hard
Shaking the ground
Till buildings tumbled down.
Everybody's doom is dfifferent
Really, my pen just ran out of ink. DISASTER

We had pedantic some time back
People who quibble, that all of the rules
Exactly are followed, are usually fools.
Do they not see that by thinking askance,
Allows you to have an alternative chance,
No – they just follow their stupid old ways,
Talk about life in their ‘fine good old days’
Idiots all of them down to a man.
Come on, think diff’rently, that’s if you can.

Can we let such accusations
Out into the world fly
Not questioning or challenging
The theories spoken by
Really rather weird
Old people here and there
Varied attitudes and beliefs
Every bl**dy where.
Really we should ask
Seriously, what's so bad
In having different opinions
And maybe getting a little sad
Long live controversy.
Why does the last line NEVER fit????

Nice one Robyn
Zelophobia – (A fear of jealousy or intense emotion)
Zucchettos, worn by Catholic priests
Ease their minds and give them peace,
lnstead of getting over jealous,
Or having thoughts, far to zealous
Peacefully they think and pray,
Hats on head throughout the day
Or if through ire, they excited be,
Beads do they play with thoughtfully.
Indeed these calm ecclesistics,
Abstain from all mental gymnastics.

Ecclesiastics and gymnastics? GENIUS!
hahaha... In fairness mine are usually varying degrees of not great cos I do them off the cuff and usually get lost somewhere in the middle when the thesaurus in my head crashes....
It's fun anyway!

Sorry - but all mine are 'off the cuff' and that' why there are so many silly mitakes in them. They are fun though and the 'collection' of all that have been posted is fascinating. Keep up the effort.
