Trite I can do so well
Rarely, I fear, do I excel
I've sat so long and looked in awe
Tentatively now I will write more
Excuse this bit of doggerel

Fantastic

Fabulously written, a joy to read,
And makes you think - a thing we need.
Nothing to criticise – naught to deride,
Take as you read it and then decide.
Always aware that the rules of the game,
Select that we try and from each other gain.
Total commitment to writing a verse,
In fact there can be very little worse.
Continue .

Railing against pride
A catch-all definition
Create a divide
Insert the insinuation
Stirring the melting pot
Making a divided nation

I thought that you would creep in here sometime.
Dance with the words - your presence sublime.
Each contributor adds the best they can do
And we don't expect any less than from you.

Please don't expect
Outstanding revelations
Every line is drawn out
Torn from deep machinations
Remembering a skill
Yet seeking inspirations

Putting out words by the litre
Reguardless of rhyming or metre
Oh, what a nice skill
Spelled correct, but still
Ends not with a punch, but a peter

Cutting remarks in a poetic debate
Raising the ire, a point to relate
Incisively scything
Terribly tiring
Intemperate comments
Convicting opinion won't make you a mate.

There was a wee man on this forum
Who critisised someone's nice poem
A talentless trout
That could only shout
So the others now have to ignore im!

Offended by what I did jot
Relax, and calm down
Remove that old frown

Ever increasing - that strange urge to rhyme

Hulking beast of burden
Every movement slow
Another turn, another field.
V-shaped furrows score the Earth
Young and old, only life they know

Heavy set and strong as the ground
Old and gentle friend
Reliable in his strength and duties
Service his gift to humankind
Everlasting gratitude mine to him.
