Mr. Tweed

I am not familiar with this hotbox you speak of (hotknives?)

I believe he might be (i could be wrong) referring to "baking" you know closing off a room or a vehicle and smoking so much pot that just the air in the room can get you stoned. A smokeout. If I'm mistaken to his meaning, so sorry. But a clam bake is fun.

clam baking? hotknives? hotbox is an obscure NE scotland term meaning "to generate an atmosphere where it is not necessary to have a joint/pipe/bong/whatever in order to get nuked", like baking. there really should be an international stoner's dictionary so this sort of thing doesn't happen. smiley - bigeyes

So, my translation was correct??? Yay! I agree there should be the Stoner's Guide of terms so as to patch up the gap, yet there is a sort of undercurrent that smokers can usually catch onto, in the language that is. Haha. I'm just tickled that I actually knew what a hotbox was, and i'm only a filthy american too!

I am 23 years old and have been smoking since I was 12. I left school at the age of 15 (year10) to become a musician. I am sure people thought I was going to be a drug addict and end up in Jail, but what I want everyone to know is that I have successfully worked in a Science and technology museum and for one of the best web design countries in Australia (I even worked on the Sydney Opera House website) and I was stoned the whole time. Marijuana affects everyone differently, so I believe it should be up to the Individual to smoke how they please. The reason I probably smoked so much over the years is that Adelaide is like an Illegal version of Amsterdam, almost everyone I know smokes (even my mum, and she just turned 53) and It is available everywhere..... So come to Adelaide if you are looking for a good quality smoke!

sound!!!! other good stoner places around the world: (sudden thought- the stoner's guide to the galaxy?) Barbados (the local skunk will blow you away) and cragievar, scotland where almost everyone tokes. we need to write a guide to stoning as a guide article. if anyone knows how to have multiple user pages please, do tell. smiley - bigeyes

good idea. i reiterate that if someone knows how to have a page which can be edited by multiple users we should write a guide to stoning worldwide (we could have like entries on stoning techniques - b&bs, waterfalls, buckets etc, best places to stone, best varieties, stoner etiquette (nice one Daniel) and stuff like that. help reqired though)

one last thing before i go - i have an urge to gloat as i have just picked about 600 shrooms on the local school playing fields! bonza! (i am NOT taking the piss here - i genuinely do talk like this all the time) smiley - bigeyessmiley - bigeyessmiley - bigeyes

I just read all of this stuff, and it's interesting to see the how many "responsible adults" smoke, and have smoked for years. I've been a moderate smoker (with the odd binge period here and there) for about three years now. I was a late starter I suppose, 18, but I think that was about right for me, after getting over the initial buzz of drinking. And as I'm sure we all now, alcohol and marijana are not the best bedfellows, though if you're careful, you're safe. I once tried a big, fat skunk spliff after eight pints of Carling Premier, but you learn from your mistakes, don't you? I just wanted to basically agree with the general tone of the debate:
It's up to me if I want to smoke, surely. I've never harmed anyone, I can't be bothered. A dream of mine is tea fed intravenously, by the way, stopping the age old argument of who's putting the kettle on.
I think that one day it will be legalised, or decriminalised, but the political perception has got to change. Did anybody see the programme recently on BBC2, called Living With the Enemy? They sent this young aristocratic, Oxbridge prick, a member of the Young Conservatives, or some such bollocks, in a commune of dope smoking hippies, to try and educate and give a bit of understanding on both sides. After the commune welcomed him, and tried to talk to him in an intelligent and balanced way, the silly little prick reported them to the police. What did the Police do? Absolutely nothing. Everyone except the politicians knows the extent to which it's being smoked. Vote Lib Dems, that's what I say. They'll decriminalise the stuff. If every smoker voted Lib Dem it might actually have some effect in Parliament. Maybe not, but it's worth a try, isn't it?

The last thing you would want to do in Australia is vote for the Liberals!!!
We have mixed laws all across Oz, Queensland will throw you in prison for having seeds while here in South Australia you get a small on the spot fine for holding upto an ounce! It's all really insane! I wish people would get over this fear and the need to control what other people do!

Yay a whole forum I missed on dack and you guys didn't tell me. Geez!!!
Well to quickly catch up: Here in New Zealand we call it Hot Boxing as well and it is very often done on the west coast by people in large growly cars and it isn't legal to smoke here but that's okay because cops are just security guards who passed the IQ test and physical which makes them somewhat on a par with intelligent rocks. Helicopters hover over our flat as we sit on the porch fogging up our brains with THC. New Zealand is a great country for weed. Although only a small proportion of New Zealanders smoke it (more would, but the majority of our population just eat normal everyday grass, and spend the rest of their time watching their backs for Australian tourists)...

A hypothesis I will prove or disprove very shortly is that there is nothing like a smoke after a ten hour work day. My plan for testing this hypothesis is going home, getting stoned and then doing nothing to compare the two. This is infinitely simpler than going home, getting stoned and then doing every conceivable thing and comparing.

Well this has been a long post but I'm making up for lost time here. Have you guys got any other sessions going on you're not telling me about???

I agree with your hypothesis. I might be flying in the face of accepted scientific protocol here, but that strikes me as something that doesn't need testing... And even if it was, who cares? Just put the kettle on and give me some munchies

I know it didn't need to be tested but now if I make a pro-marijuana brochure I can say "Research has shown that nothing compares to a big fat 2 skinner after a hard day at work"....

Fair enough. Point taken. And if you do write that brochure, I'd be glad to add some of my stoned babble to it's illustrious pages

Did you set up a smoking etiquette site as this is a point i have spent many a long stoned evening thinking about.
How many tokes should you take before passing on?
Is it correct to impress your friend with a joint the size of a road cone?
How to you open the subject of the one person who constantly smokes more of a communal J than anyone else?
Is it correct for the roller to smoke the lion's share?
What is the best food for 2 a.m. smoking munchies?
Is the creation of a joint an art form?
How do you get rid of friend's and their strange mates at 4 a.m. when your so wasted you can't crawl to bed and have work in 3 hour's.

My answers to the Pot smokers Quiz----
I say 3 tokes (if its a blunt or a joint). \(depends on the amount of people ) I find 3 to be safe.
Yes (a huge joint is good for all, as long as its not messy!!)
Make a joke. "are you gonna hold on to that all night?? or can we smoke too?"
If the roller is the one who bought the marijuana then I say thank the lord this bud is free. Let him do what he wants. I fyou get a few FREE hits take em' and chalk up the rollers bad etiquette to antisocial nature.
(i think we should share the wealth!!)
Pizza.
(or pretzels and peanut butter. it sounds gross but you like gross things when you're stoned)
Definitely an art form. I wish I could practice it in school.
Sleep where you fall. Let them sort their own lives out.

Tis the stuff of thee earth thou shalt smoke!

Can you score the quiz. Did I pass???

Wow ... so much to respond to!

Cudos on the Smoker's etiquette advice, I would definitely contribute to that!

I am a 23 year old smoker that started at .. oh 18-19. The issue of when one should 'be allowed' to start smoking is certainly a loaded one, and has made me think about my own starting and my friend's. First of all, I have to say that I cannot agree with the notion that smoking pot causes you to stop developing your personality. I find it is usually the oposite, with it openning new doors -- though that can be confounded by the fact that you are prolly meeting many new people at the time. To reduce it to bare essentials, pot smoking is a new thing you can do, and every new thing you do increases your store of experience, and changes your personality accordingly.

So there.

There is also the argument that people should wait until a certain age before they smoke. Now, I know many people who drank and smoked cigarettes when they were young, simply because they were NOT ALLOWED to, cutting down severely when they were legal, weras those who drank wine with their families from an early age rarely had problems with alcohol later in life.

So, should 8 year olds be smoking dope then?

Well, besides the argument that a nice fat bowl would make any finicky kid crave his brussel sprouts like no tommorow, it seems wrong to me.

Then again, I spent much of my early teenage years depressed, and I dont think I would have had such a hard time, had I been able to relax with a water pipe once and a while.

So I dont know, it still tweaks me as wrong . . .

"Dad, can I have a drag off your hooka?"

"Just one Bobby, now get me some munchies"

Maybe that wouldnt be too bad. The gentle introduction and education during childhood.

But when it comes to heavy smoking, I think that no one in adolescence could truly cope with that, nor can many older people.

I indulge in the odd binge, but then, what I consider a binge may seem like cutting down to some people.

Too much of anything can be harmful, other than love of course smiley - smiley

As to what are the best things to eat while stoned, I am actually writing a cookbook for just that purpose and I think that I will post what I have so far to the Guide so I can get imput. I havent done it yet, but I will today so check my page for it! And do please please add any recipes of your own!!

Feed your head and Free the Weed!!
