I wouldn't intervene but Sky is a woodworker.
How do you shift your timbers then Sky?

"I just thought it was 'cause you could put a full load of plywood in the back!"
Obviously. And if you continue to trivialise things and not recognise reality, you'll continue simply to be a part of the problem.

What's FoMoCo done to you Sky.
Are you a Chevvy fan or what?
Can we not trivialise a little here
and there.?

The vast majority of the population would need to carry a load of timber - perhaps once every few years (if that). Why would you let that influence your choice of daily transport?
No, there's something more obvious going on here. THE NEED TO FEEL IMPORTANT.

"What's FoMoCo done to you Sky."
I've got nothing against FoMoCo. (They own Jaguar and Volvo.)
Tell the truth now, you're just pretending to miss the point aren't you?

Well, around here if you drive a Ford truck it's because you have the Need to Feel Like Everyone Thinks Your From the Farm....
Seriously, I hate to be an Urbanite but trucks are for the country here and there is a lot of country. I can't really comment on the rest of the world...

I think making a stonking huge amount of *noise* with your engine goes along with that... I am in't library right now, corner of PT Chev Rd, and it feels like the middle of Penrose or Otahuhu!
Some plonker in a 4WD nearly ran me down this morning, but they made so much noise I heard them coming for miles.

Here,cl zoomer, 90% of such vehicles will never leave the suburbs. There's a lot of country in NZ, but considerably less of it than in Canada...
Also, in the city, where I am, big 4WDs are driven by the upwardly mobile and the Urbanites par excellence!
Pretentious Git Wagons, I believe Apparition (driven away by Oetzi ) once called them...

And that's another thing. The majority of 4WDs never leave perfectly sealed city roads. How absurd! There's only one reason to own a vehicle like that if you don't live on a farm. EGO!

Fine, but how many F150 owners shift timber on a regular basis. My guess would be 0.000001%.

I heard a theory once that it got it's start from the crumbling infrastructure (and thus roads) of NA cities. Then it just got to be people who liked to tower over other people in traffic. Now it's just plain silly but if the price of oil keeps going up we may see an upswing of the rather hybrid vehicles. All of the ranches and farms will still have their trucks, though. I'd love to see some hard data on where they are used, city and country.
