When is it appropriate to stop thanking someone for holding doors open ahead of you?

If Sauron had a disco party, would that be Mordor on the Dance Floor?

I like a revolving door too, when it's big enough for me and my wheelchair to fit in - a simple pleasure to follow a curve.
There is still some ritual courtesy though - one time I encouraged someone to go first, then I went round, but they stopped right in front of the doorway so I couldn't get far out of the compartment. They said, "Wow, I didn't think you'd fit in there! Isn't it dangerous though?" just as the partition caught my wheel and pushed me sideways a bit. Cue the person saying, "I told you - it is dangerous"
A few people like to hold an automatic door open for me, but I don't rush if I'm far away. What I do tend to do is if someone opens a non-automatic door that I just happen to be next to, I will go through it, even though it often means I have to open the door myself when they've gone to go back to where I was...
I thank them for it, too... If there are a number of doors in quick succession, like there were in one building I worked in, and one person holds them open for me I will say thank you, then cheers or something like that, then I'll just smile and nod and if there are other doors after that, we will end up laughing.
