I keep getting "Where the buffalo roam" mixed up with "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas." I don't otherwise confuse Bill Murray with Johnny Depp, though....

Bill Murray looks more like Thompson than Depp does, and he does a fine impression of him, but Depp channeled Hunter.

Depp claimed to be channeling Howard Hughes when he played Willy Wonka, but many saw him channeling Michael Jackson instead. And the 'Willy Wonka" tune from that movie is a real earworm

as the leap second continues.... sliding forward, in time, pushing ahead, the giant turtle-like waves of amphebian invasion. First there came the frogs, and then next the newts, slithering and hopping, and moving towards the final ultimate certainty, of world distruction! only the ferrits an save us now or maybe the badgers

What danger could frogs and toads be to anyone but flies? Granted, Cane Toads can eat small birds and rodents, but as long as they stay in Australia and the places where they originated, the world is no worse off than it was before.

Not that it was great before, but cherry pastries and good coffee have managed to persist despite the world's woes.

but... these arn't ordinary frogs and newts and todes, they're evil amphebians! plotting to take over the world! we'll all be gummed up in the resultant slime I bet! hence the pitch forlks.... and sythes... I think...

Yes! the alien amphebians have arrived in the leap second! they used the gap to sneak through the earth's atmosphere undetected! we're doomed!

I once had a coworker who was deathly afraid of frogs, "You just never know when they'll leap straight for the jugular."

I believe she may have been serious.






Batrachophobia- Fear of amphibians, such as frogs, newts, salamanders, etc.

I used to pick those long-stemmed grass stalks with the pomp pom-like ends, and dangle the ends in front of a frog until the frog bit it. It's all about frog instincts.

but... you can't predict anything with the alien amphebians... one moment they'll chew the grass like the next frog in the paddock, the next moment... they[ve ripped your eye browse off in the middle of the night, and left a rude note on your aunties bedside table... they're vindictive like that ... I'd not trust one as far as I could trust a ferrit to tapdance until the midnight hour... that... bad... IMO...

I've got a dancing chinchilla in the front room.... and a bee and a frog upstairs, but they dont' dance, and neither does the penguine in the Bee's bedroom, with the massive..... strange grin....
