Who, me?smiley - huh Call centre smiley - illsmiley - run The very definition of a dead-end, soul-destroying, not-a-person-but-an-employee-number, totally replaceable, zero job satisfaction, making-about-as-much-difference-as-gnat's-fart-makes-to-the-earth's-rotation... job. smiley - puff

I feel your pain. Much to my chagrin I'm starting a job at another call center tommorow.

Of course like (I presume) all call centres, you are promised the moon on a stick when you join; 'no, no, it's not a call centre, it's a *communication* centre', 'you'll be the lynch-pin of the organisation smiley - laugh', 'you'll be guiding and directing the operatives in the field' and other such grandiose and unlikely borlocks.

All call centres are the same at the end of the day; you have all the autonomy of a puppet, and you are literally tied to your desk, with a computer that you have to tell what you are doing and why at all times. Everything has to be justified and every breath and syllable you speak is potentially up for scrutiny at a later date.

Good luck in the new job, bye the way! smiley - winkeyesmiley - tongueout

May I add one more disadvantage? You aren't even a face that people can relate to, just a disembodied voice. People feel entitled to say all kinds of horrid things to a voice that they would never say to your face.

I worked the phone lines on a few political campaigns, and I quickly became burned out smiley - erm.
