There's no excuse for journalists not to provide better coverage. Even small children understand, as shown in this article:

Now that I disagree with.
Using children as political tools is loathsome.
Getting them to parrot one side of an argument - because that's the only side they're given - is pretty pathetic.
They *do not* understand the debate.

Well, of course they don't understand that manipulating the market with artificial financial vehicles has destabilized and is continuing to the world economy.
But even the very young understand that stealing is wrong.

Solnuska, "and it appears we do have an #occupylondon I really must turn the news on and stop relying on twitter"
Oddly, this is pretty much the exact opposite of my actions when I want to know what's going on. At the British coverage of #OccupyLSX (that's the Twitter hashtag for those who don't know) is focusing on the decision by St Paul's to close, thereby failing to address the issues the protest is actually about.
I read this on a BBC message thread this morning:
"The protesters need to look at the bigger picture.'
Actually, that's exactly what the protesters are doing and exactly what St Paul's, the mainstream media and our beloved Government (and opposition) are completely failing to do.

An attack on those willing to stand up to the perpetrators of the biggest crime of in a century:
"Portland police are looking for the person who threw a chemical bomb at the Occupy Maine encampment in Portland during the early morning hours on Sunday." Rest of the story here:

Alan Grayson on the Occupy movement, says 24 million people in this country "can't find a full-time job," 50 million "can't see a doctor when they're sick," 47 million people need government help to feed themselves and 15 million families owe more than the value of their home.

Yeah, and 1% of the population is profiting hugely from their misery.

Britain's mainstream media has been full of piffle about empty tents at St Paul's today. Desperately clutching at straws to avoid discussing the issues.
There is a response here: http://alexhern.wordpress.com/2011/10/25/9-out-of-10-tents-are-empty-bullshit/

We can expect this sort of treatment for some time to come. Remember who owns most of the press, the top 1%, so of course they will try to pretend that nothing is really happening.
But it is happening, it is real, and the top 1% cannot wish the rest of us away anymore.
This is why net neutrality is so important. If it weren't for net neutrality, they could suppress our blogs as well.

I concur wholeheartedly.
Being a trade union rep working in the public sector I've been used to this for quite a while already!

Welcome Primeval Mudd
It's particularly tough for public sector union members with the right wing gunning for them. This has been a particularly bad day in congress for first responders and it's only Tues/Wimpy.
The Occupy Together site now lists over two thousand cities with Occupy events http://www.meetup.com/occupytogether/

The media weren't interested in reporting on the growing Occupy movement, but now at least they have police brutality to report about.

Yep, this is why OWS is about so much more than just the banking crisis of the last few years.

What a thing for a Marine to come home to:
Scott Olsen, a Marine who served two tours in Iraq, was struck in the head by a "nonlethal" projectile fired by the Oakland police. The round fractured his skull, leaving him in critical condition.
But wait folks, that's not bad enough. When a group gathered to help Olsen after he was hit, a police officer threw a flash bang grenade into the group from a few feet away.

It is interesting how some cities outlaw bullhorns but in the enclosed video you see one being used in Lansing on the steps of the State Capitol Building.

OccupySAStunnel.
(Apparently all sorts of totally powerless and irrelevent religious people are resigning to do with St Paul's.
People in Peckham are getting very excited about the huge political power and influence Occupy has here in the UK).
