Well KB if we can cope with the disgusting behaviour of Islamists at Wooten Basset I'm sure we can cope with these people.

Haven't the UK just put people in prison for attempting to incite riots that never actually happened? <winkeye

Yes I understand that Effers, but what you were posting implied that the English and the Scots have separate immigration laws, when they don't. It was quite misleading.

Sorry kea you're right as someone from NZ I would be confusing you. But its just that recent elections for the Scottish parliament overwhelmingly rejected the British parties..and the recent riots only affected England.
At present we have no separate identity from Britain. But from talking to people it will definitely come..and thank god..we are most colonised.
But yes sorry for confusing you on the technical stuff to do with law as it still presently stands.

And so a myth is born.
I'm not sure what behaviour at Wooton Basset you mean? A small organisation of idiots courted publicity (and received it) by *talking* about plans for a protest, but they did not actually do anything at Wooton Bassett.

They've got a cool town hall, though:

People can laugh all they want. at the idea of England being colonised by the concept of "Britain' But I have no doubts..and talking to others bears it out. The kind of stuff done in the world in the name of 'Britain' disgusts more and more people..
That's to do with 'Empire'
England has an ancient identity that of course is now mixed with the contemporary society.
It will come that England gains her independance from Britain.

From this outside perspective there is no Britain without England. England created Britain by colonising Scotland and Wales (let's leave Ireland out of it for a minute). Didn't it? (altough I'm sure it's more complex than that historically). And according to some here, the English are still colonising
I don't have a problem with England having its own identity. I just don't see what Britain is if it's not England plus its additions.

I think what's happening here is that I'm talking legal and historical entities, and you're talking cultural ones. Can you explain what you mean by Britain for instance, and how it's colonised England? Also, we may have different ideas about what colonisation means.

The whole concept of the Union England/scotland'Wales NI is intimately connected with Empire. Look at the Royal standard flag. The Royals are all about the Union and they are to do with Empire.
Its very complicated and hard to explain..but I know it. You only have to read plenty of novels about "england' to do with the landscape..that has nothing to do with other parts. Plus we have a whole tradition of moderate Anglicanism..which was about dealing with the rotestant/Catholic issue which other parts of the UK still have problems with. Those are two forces to do with the image and the word.
We are the land of Shakespeare..not literally but metaphorically. But its also exciting in the modern context.
I'm an artist. We see these things.

Number of MPs in Westminster from England: 533
Number of MPs in Westminster from Scotland: 59
Number of MPs in Westminster from Wales: 40
Number of MPs in Westminster from Northern Ireland: 18
If England decides to go her own way - and why not, it's an option - the government will be indistinguishable from her current one.
Scotland, on the other hand, consistently votes mostly for Labour or the Scottish Nationalist Party and endures Conservative governments put in power by English voters. I can see how they might feel annoyed...
