The problem seems to be with Google+ not Google generally so yes, closing it should prevent the other Google accounts from getting suspended. I don't have Google+ so it isn't a problem for me, it's a page I was sent by a twitter follower who is a journalist. He runs several Google accounts. He's closed his G+ account to protect GMail and his blog account. If you want to take the chance that's your choice, of course, but remember Google+ is still only a beta program and so isn't yet fully stable. They may not have intended the suspensions to have been Google wide but that's what people are reporting is happening.

I have not had any problems and I have still got my google + account and my gmail account.

I suspect that google are targetting businesses or multiple accounts. They want any marketing done via their finance department I expect!

It wanted me to reveak my real name, but I justt used my Cristain name and hootoo non de plume

I must replace this keyboard and get one without the sticky keys. IT do something useful for a change

I do wonder exactly how widespread the problem is mind. Lots of active people in my circles with Psyudenoms. I'd be interested to hear more about the suspensions. And maybe something from the other side.
