The headlines in tonight's Radio 4 6pm news is that an MP has used Parliamentary Privilege to state the footballer who had the superinjunction against the Sun newspaper and Imogen Thomas is Ryan Giggs.
It is also on the front page of the BBC news website.

The BBC lawyers have obviously said it is OK to report this news story hence it is OK for us to report this news story.

Played that Lib Dem MP.
Some Tory culture type minister was on earlier, whining about it..and waffling on about committees needing to be set up to deal with Twitter..

Unbelievable.
Cutting and pasting a headline from one BBC website onto another BBC website gets the mods in a tizzy. Has someone urinated on the chimp's peanuts?

Twaggers post 134 is now back. However, all the hidden ones from the weekend are still hidden even tho they never stated that a certain footballer had taken out a certain superinjunction...

You can see why the BBC/government don't like message boards. They are people power. And it's funny how we hear all this stuff about how great social media is at toppling regimes in Johnny Foreigner land. But the minute muscles are flexed here they simply don't have a clue what to do except get all blustery and head scratching.
But I imagine the BBC will be thoroughly relieved to see the back of us. They are retaining Archers' mustardland though aren't they? Or at least the curse of Barlesque hasn't been inflicted on them

Can someone tell me why this post is in contempt of court - "MP names footballer as Ryan Giggs http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-13503847 "A married footballer named on Twitter as having an injunction over an alleged affair with a reality TV star has been identified in Parliament as Ryan Giggs. Lib Dem MP John Hemming named the player during an urgent Commons question on privacy orders. Using parliamentary privilege to break the court order, he said it would not be practical to imprison the 75,000 Twitter users who had named the player. Earlier the High Court again ruled that the injunction should not be lifted" but 3dots post where he wrote "The headlines in tonight's Radio 4 6pm news is that an MP has used Parliamentary Privilege to state the footballer who had the superinjunction against the Sun newspaper and Imogen Thomas is Ryan Giggs. It is also on the front page of the BBC news website. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-13503847" isn't?

My opinion of the staff of this site was pretty low before. Tonight's nonsense, where posts to a BBC website were hidden for referring to the content of the BBC news, has been enough for me. Could someone email me when this site is no longer being run by this bunch of incompetent twunts.

What, this LibDem MP? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1328895/Love-cheat-MP-John-Hemmings-200k-loan-paid-YOU.html
What a fine, upstanding pillar of society.
Really?
mad sash Posted May 23, 2011
If said 'footballer' is entitled to take out an injunction preventing people naming said 'footballer' in the name of privacy, then why aren't the people on twitter entitled to the same privacy? This law sucks! We need a better one...

I think they will remain hidden as one would assume the mods have realised how stupid they have been in hiding posts that should not have been hidden in the first place and that this evenings debacle has simply been embarrassing.

Why blame the staff / mods?
Who pays them?
Blame the payer, not the piper
