We enjoyed it and will watch it again. Catherine Tate was good too. "Am I bothered?" is a great character.

Hmm, just checked the schedule, if I'd switched from my digibox to ye olde fashioned aerial I could have watched it. Specifically BBC2 Wales *digital* had something else on

Is Rickys character called Andy or Alan? I've remembered a couple more anyway:
Stiller: "Who are you?"
Andy: "Nobody."
Stiller: "Yeah, and who am I?"
Andy: "Starsky or Hutch, I can't remember."
Stiller: "Was that supposed to be funny?"
Andy: "I dunno, you were in the film."
And: "Herman Munster"

Extras: Watched a bit, thought RG was just as annoying and whinny as in TThe Office, switched over. But then I detest embarresment based comedy. each to their own.
Absolute Power: Now that I am glad to see back. Funny and clever. Was anyone else watching it thinking 'I bet downing street are taking notes on this'.
Actually, extras may have been good, I just find RGs 'acting' very irritating so I couldn't get past that. Some of the one liners sound amusing though.

Actually Absolute Power is what BBC2 Wales *digital* () showed instead.
I switched over without even looking to see what is was unfortunately. Watched 'Earth Story' on UKTV history instead. Which is very good so I don't mind too much really.

Absolute Power was the first of a new series last night.
How popular is it over theere Kea? Be interested to know how it 'translates'?

I think this is a brand new series, first epsiode last night
and ...
I didn't think it was as funny as the previous ones
I forgot to look at the writing credits, but I just didn't think it was quite as sharp - still some very funny bits though.

I think you may be right Trin - the first series was brilliant, this one merely good.
Ictoan, I don't think I know anyone else here who watches it. It translates fine for me but then I follow British culture (although so do alot of kiwis). Some of the references are too obscure, but for the most part it's pretty easy to follow even though it seems very British.
We're up to about episode 4 or 5 of the second series. Incredibly strange that we are seeing it here first, or are you on the third?

Not sure - last night's episode was all about ID cards and MI5.

The first episode of series two that played here was about one of the Bin Ladens wanting to buy British Airways and hiring Prentiss McCabe to handle it.
Athough TVNZ have been known to play series out of sequence (having missed the signficance of 'series' I suppose).

Just had a quick hunt around and, yes, this is only series two - so it looks like you are getting it first!
So no more spoilers!
There've been four radio series, so far, so maybe they're working their way through those - I like it there, too.

Did just find something a bit interesting though: it's not TVNZ who are shuffling the order, it's the BBC - apparently the 'Bin Laden's brother' episode was considered a bit too sensitive, so they moved it till later on.

Sorry about the spoiler, couldn't resist. It's only a little one really.
We just had Sea of Souls play here: 3 x two parters. TVNZ played episodes 2a and 2b first and then 1a and 1b. So we were at the fourth episode before we understood the significance of the opening sequence of the 'first' episode.
Morons.
*averts long rant about NZ TV programmers*
BBC must be shuffling quite abit because I'm pretty sure we haven't had the ID episode yet. That explains why there is no episode guide on the BBC website.

I haven't managed to see any of Absolute Power on the telly - is this a transfer of the Raido four comedy? I love the radio one so how have I missed it on TV!?
Managed to miss Extrs too - does anyone know if it is getting a BBC3 repeat?
