Gnomon - time to move on Posted Jul 19, 2005
300,000 have registered as researchers, although many of them must be people registering twice because it didn't work the first time.
A few thousand stop by every so often.
About 100 are regulars, here most of the time.
There are also far, far more people who look at h2g2 without ever registering.

Wait a minute... If other researchers are just your personalities how are we logged in at the same time?

I'm in a room full of computers, logged on each one as a different personality.

That's okay then... I was getting worried that we other personalities had somehow broken free and were leading independant lives.
Just one question though: why the trolls? Are you subconsciously punishing yourself?

If you use different browsers, such as Internet Explorer and Netscape, they keep independent cookies, so you can be logged on a few times under different ids.

The trolls are just the banal parts of my personality showing themselves. I can't suppress them.
I apologise for the "What are you wearing?/What are you eating?/What are you doing?/What time is it?" threads.

The time to worry is when you have blazing rows with yourself, then have to get a second party to mediate between yourselves. Been there done that.

So if you and I are actually among Footbacon's merry band of alternate persanilities do OUR respective alternate personalities ever get to meet each other? And isn't it getting a little crowded in there?

what I want to know is what gave the footbacon personality the right to out us other personalities as personalities. we all have the right, living within a democratically elected scizophrenic, to anonyminityfinity, i don't want other people to know that I am not real but merely the fragmented pigments of a poorly twisted mind. there will be trouble when we get us home tonight mark my words. i will make us punish ourself.

Since I've had the pleasure of meeting Footy, either it's all a load of hokum, I imagined the whole thing or i just think I imagined the whole thing because Footy imagined it.
The concept just makes my head spin, or maybe the facet of Footy's head that is me.

I'm not a personality of Footbacon. I'm a personality in my own right!
