kea ~ Far out in the uncharted backwaters of the unfashionable end of the western spiral arm of the Galaxy lies a small, unregarded but very well read blue and white website

I don't know who is lying in that story, but I don't have much sympathy for the tatooist being taken to court. The woman getting the tattoo was only 18, and the tattoos are very invasive, and pretty weird for a face, so he should have had some caution about what he was doing. It would be really easy to get someone to sign something saying what they wanted.

Putting aside the pain (I've never had one so couldn't judge)to do that much work on her face would surely have required him to move her head to one side or other, would she really sleep through that? If she was really relaxed and tolerent (?sp) of the pain, it might be a different story if he was doing the small of her back, but I doubt it.

Well, he claims she even checked progress in the mirror on more than one occasion, and apparently she was happy until her dad and brother saw it and kicked off...

I dunno, one tattoo on your face or several, it's not like it wouldn't be noticed, I cant see any tattooist who wants to retain any kind of reputation doing something *quite* so obvious as this unless it was specifially asked for.

Last I heard the police were refusing to investigate, but that was in a paper yesterday, we'll see...

I quite like them, as star tattoos go. it's not bad, but really, getting them removed will only leave nasty scarring anyway, it's hardly worth it.

yeay if she got that removed it would look like permanent achne.

some people say that through hypnotism you can sort of sleep through a tattoo but that seem unlikly,

nor can u get drunk or take sleeping pills as these thin the blood causing alot more bleeding and possible fading of the ink on the tattoo

but they stars on hercheek must of hurt a great amount

Scary, i dont fancy her chances at the next job interview

Sho - employed again!

But most tattoo places won't put ink on you if you don't seem to be awake and fully in control of your brain. Plus usually they send you away to think about very obvious ones like facial tattoos.

I have had tattoos done. It feels like someone lightly scratching you over sunburn. But then I didn't have mine on my face so it might be different there.

If that were my daughter I'd be hopping mad though - although I hope they'd tell me first so that I could tell them to use transfer-type tattoos for a while to get used to the idea.

Look at her body language in the clip and she looks like a someone who knows she's done something stupid and is covering up for herself.

I think a lot of tattooists would be unlikely to tattoo someone in the face. Though this particular tattooist seems to have his whole face covered, so I guess he would be more likely to. I think the face should be more painful than other parts of the body, not something you´d sleep through. Though I guess she might have passed out. Why he should then have decided to spend extra time and effort on making more stars I don´t get.

Presumably she paid him rather than thrown a mega-wobble in the shop when she saw what had been done. Still, poor girl.

I think they look really pretty!

Some of the tatooists who did mine said they don't do faces because people regret it so much and try to cause problems for the person who did it. As someone said, the tatooist had his own facial tatooes so perhaps he didn't have that worry.

I wouldn't have thought you could sleep through tattoos, the 'colouring in' can be quite painful on various bits of your body. Unless she'd taken some sort of drug?

You may have the right of it Mina, that she was drunk or stoned at the time.

I'd picked up the idea somewhere that it was illegal for UK tattooists to tattoo the face or hands, which is why the tattoos you do see on hands tend to be so badly done. Certainly facial tattoos in the UK are far and few between, though I saw a bloke with a spiders web over his face the other day which looked both great and scary.

It's a shame. They could look fabulous. She's a pretty girl, and they have been nicely placed. If she felt proud of them she'd look fabulous. She's got fairly good bones too.

Silly silly girl.

I´m wondering if it has anything to do with that "sparkle" stuff in the Twilight books.

i think facial tattoos can look great aslong as the person is sure they want them forever

i don't think you can get drunk or drugged up before a tattoo, as alcohol and a lot of drugs thins the blood causing excess bleeding, which can ruin the tattoo

That just means you shouldn´t, not that you can´t.
