I can still recall
The wheat fields of Saint Paul
And the morning we got caught robbing from an old hen
Well Old MacDonald, he made us work
But then he paid us for what it was worth
Another tank of gas and back on the road again
Me and you and a dog named Boo
Trav'lin and a-livin' off the land
Me and you and a dog named Boo
How I loved bein' a free man
Lobo -- from his "Of a Simple Man" album.. Yes, the vinyl type.
Acutally before you put that crazy little song in my head (what with the dog named snoring and all that), it was:
I'm just a poor Wafarin' Stranger
Trav'ling through this world alone
And there's no sickness, toil or danger
In that good land to which I go
Michal Parks. Some of you may even remember him as Bronson in "Then Came Bronson", a TV series about a good guy loner type always misunderstood because he was toodling across country on a hog (the motorized kind ). What you may not know is that he himself also sang the theme song to the show -- "Goin' Down That Long, Lonesome Highway" (Yes, that's a long title.)

Ooh. I've just listened to an 18 minute MP3 of Godspeed you black emporer!'s John Peel Session, called "Hung Over As The Oven In Maida..." - or something along those lines.
It's all one track. It's an instrumental. And very, very strange... I reccomend it! Try http://www.brainwashed.com/godspeed to find out more.
Oh yeah, and PLEASE could some peeps check out my entry on Straight Edge (the movement built up around a type of harDCore punk music) at http://www.h2g2.com/A487307 . Ta.

Yes, I do like them! By a complete fluke, HMV had a copy of Lift Yr. Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven! in stock. It's very odd. As it spans two CDs, I've not heard it all yet...

right now im listeningto a very abused cd of the dreaming.there goes a tenner...kate bush ,suprized its even playing.as for the 78s ive been collecting them for three or four years ,thats how long ive had my victrola.ive got stacks i still havent listened to.most ive picked up at a local auction.some in antique shops.mainly keep an eye out for blues but will pick up on pop and classical if the price is right,or if i see something interesting.the dvorak i played today was left for rubbish ,it was the first time i played it and was happy to find all the disks intact and in very good condition.must say the phli.orch was sounding very good at this period in their history.its typical to find one or more disks missing or broken in album sets like this.it can be very frustrating.maybe even worse is to spot a rare victrola just to find someone has gutted the horn and moter to make a linen cabinet out of.a few ive played here exist no more im sad to say, some seem to break if you look at them too hard, but at least they were heard one more time.anyway the dreaming is over so i think ill play one of my favorites, billie holiday ive got a right to sing the blues ,craaannnnkkkkkk....;<((((((
