Videos crept up on me (not literally) so the importance of remembering the first one I ever bought was never there, subsequently I canot recall
Vinyl, the first album bouht for me, was a Showaddywady greatest hits, purchased by my grandad, as he inexplicably thought I'd like the song 'Blue Moon', I didn't and still don't.
The first vinyl 7" I ever bought for myself (aged about ten in the local woolworths) was a track called 'The Last Film' by Kissing the Pink. Toal one hit wonders that i'd never heard of before or since, and no-one else ever appears to of heard of them either. So it's kind of a cool first. Even though, as a kid, I only liked it really because it had someone whistling in it.

I probably ought to buy it again on CD, since all my vinyl has been in a box in the attic for 8 years...

Vinyl Single - Love Me Do
Album - Please Please Me
Cassette - never bought any (see Orcus reasoning in Post 3)
VHS - parents had a VERY early reel to reel video machine so I used to buy blank tapes and record TV programmes.
I had ALL of the early Beatles records (and lots of Stones, Who, Bolan etc) but my dad "forgot" to retrieve them when we moved in 1966 and they were lost - I dare not think what they would be worth now!

Do yourself a favour DaveBlackEye, Get that vinyl dusted off - it'll have survived 8 years in the attic just fine and will recreate the feeling way better than the CD remaster....!

Appleadelaide - I've still got the record in the attic somewhere
LordWolfden - It was a 'pirate' copy obtained from a video store I used to work in in 1981.
