What has a clothing chain got to do with Dr Who?
Nuff silliness.

It's not him i'm angry at ~ it's whatever ing idiot at the beeb didn't think this through. They should have made sure whoever was hired to be the Dr was willing to do more than 1 series.
It's not like it would stop me watching but it could've been planned better.

They couldn't have tied him to a contract before they found out how popular the series was going to be.
If it had bombed, they would have had to sack him, and that would have cost mucho
Then we would have been complaining at wasting the licence fee on massive payouts to crap actors.
Let's face it, this is all good publicity for the BBC. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the next episode and the rest of this series breaks all records. "Last chance to see" CE as the Doctor.

Surely they could have included an option to renew ~ dependant on viewing figures.

Ok I've been having a think about the logistics and timing of all this and why they annonced the second series, announced that CE had quit and in the next breath said they were "In Talks" with David Tennant, been a quiet night at work
Ok say Christopher Ecclestone decided to quit after the end of filming and said so to the producers, they start looking for a replacement but decided not to say anything publically until a second series was in the bag, admittedly announcing the second series and then announcing Ecclestone had quit hours afterwards was crap timing, basically they were keeping their options open by not announcing Ecclestone had quit immediatly after filming, they need to shoot their publicist tho for crap timing
If that load of old nonsense made any sense please say so

Even as someone who will probably keep that on tape until it rots I thought it was really, really funny. A massive budget, saturation promotion, 'the biggest TV event of the year' and still the broadcast gets cocked up! This sort of thing is one of the reasons why we have to keep the license fee.
