Btw, I blame 2legs for not sending me a private Emil as to speakers - I´ve been fumbling and grumbling for more years than I admit to be old, so we might agree to blame someone else.

This is supposed to be a morally uplifting website. Apage, satanas - or blame 2legs if you don´t.

what does 'morally uplifting' mean? I blame 2legs for my not knowing the answer to many things including all the things in the past few posts and probably also in this one too
given a fixed internal capacity of a box, how long would a bass port need to be to ensure a frequency response that went down to at least 20 HZ? such are the questions that keep me awake and go beyond my mathmatical ability
I blame 2legs for waht I'm about to do, and for the consequences if it doesn't work... (this is speaker related again becasue I am really that* sad...) I blame 2legs for swiss cheese, knobbly knees, painted peas, and bumble bees, for dew-wet trees, and people who don't say please, and for six and a half poudns of raw sheeps liver.
I blame 2legs for that not rhyming properly

I herewith blame 2legs for my getting hungry at 9:45pm - sheep´s liver...yummyyummyyummy! And chummy - you can´t tune any odd box to whatever frquency, the driver´s parameters have their say there. And the overadvertised 20Hz are nonsense anyway. You know who to blame.

Re: the 20 Hz frequency response - doesn't it depend whether the cat in the box is living or dead?

Pit - ( Carpe Diem - Stay in Bed ) Posted May 26, 2010
Get the cat out of the box and give it back to Schroedinger.

The resident cat here is very much alive - and on top of me. He ambushed me on the way back from the office. (Where I was fetching my laundry - I blame 2legs for the washing machine being in the office!)

All my speakers go down to 20 HZ... I got boared and tested them ages ago Well all cept the little PC ones but I don't use em much and not for music obviously
I blame 2legs for the vast amount of dust and dry resin/glue over the spare bedroom floorboards.... and a speaker cabinate that is still firm as anything on three sides of the baffle Screws may just be the answer

Whatsoever fasteners will hold like hell if and when you don´t want them to...you know who we blame for thinking "OK. Axe."

AXE!? They may be old, but they'd make very expensive fire-wood I blame 2legs for tiredness and boardum and wrestlessness and stuff and my not having any appropiate screws and things to get on with fixing the cabainte

Yeah, uh-huh. That's what he said.

Old? Blame anyone if you got them cheap from ijits who had no idea. Blame me for being jealous. And yes - I have the appropriate amount of legs, but this doesen´t mean I´ll take over.

2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side... Posted May 26, 2010
Oh I've plenty of screws... mainly industrial length and strength, a bit too big for the job in hand... or way too small plus If I is going to have to screw the baffle on from the external sides of the cabinate, I might as well get some nice brass ones so I can recess them into the cabinate and make it look llike its ment* to be that way rather than someones done a bodged job on em...
They cost me £40 I seem to recall... But they origionally cost over £400 in 1974.... So they were a bit more expensive in 1974 than my £350 Quadrels from the 1990's (cost me £90 second hand), or the £395 Mordaunt Short speakers I bought new a few years back.... Still not as cheap as the celestions I got for a tenner and a bottle of cheap cider Mind, once I've sorted out the current speakers I'm working on I need to sort the celestions out too but... when I get my big powered studeo monitors fixed, and back, I may*, for once, have all* my speakers in fully functioning order at the same time
I blame 2legs for my having far too many sets of speakers
*counts.... err the two smaller sets (that need the work done), the big and small powered monitors, and the two huge floorstanders... and the Clipsche 2.1 speakers, and the Denon system speakers, and about four sets of little crap PC speakers Not including guitar amps mind
Still can't decide if I should add some internal bracing to these I'm working on though... Where's my tool box gone

I blame 2legs for the lack of hangovers here I also blame 2legs for the various electronics items, cabinate fixtures, grill bits, cables, and spade/crimp connectors and bits I just bought
I also blame 2legs for my 2.5 hours sleep last night and the cramp in my left leg which woke me up so early
