100 things to do in a lifetime
Xanatic Posted Feb 28, 2005
Hmmmm, some of these things it seems you should do as thing number 100. Cos you probably won't make it through alive. Like speaking to a tiger up close. What are the chances it will answer back anyway?
Fly in a hot air balloon.

Well I’ve cuddled a tarantula, traveled on a steam train and been round a nuclear power station. I’ve diaboloed with fire and skinny dipped in the sea. I’ve slept out under the stars, rung in the New Year. Been body boarding and skied in real snow. I’ve shot various guns and fired a musket. I’ve held a golden eagle, and experienced total darkness in the depths of a cave system. I’ve watched a mare foaling and witnessed many lambings. I’ve hand reared chicks and watched badger cubs playing in the dusk.
For the future I want to :
Pass my bike test
Fly
I’d love to see wolves in the wild, but that’s rather unlikely.
I want to climb Snowdan
Learn how to light a fire without matches.
Canoe down a river (hopefully this summer)
Spend some time alone in an isolated place
Go to a match to try and understand why so many people are addicted to the game.
And many others……

Some goodies coming in.
Some I've thought of this morning:
Do a high dive
Look at the moon through a very powerful telescope
Arrange one last proper, refereed 90 minute football match with my mates (to say goodbye to our youth )
Have a singing lesson

No, no, I know I could, but I'd like to have a go/learn how to use a fire bow or light a fire with flint.

There's an interesting story about the 60s producer Joe Meek. One evening he was in a graveyard and convinced himself that a mewing cat was trying to communicate with him. He was carry a recorder and taped the ensuing 'conversation'. The tape is still in existence somewhere.

Doctor, one of my sayings is 'I don't wanna be on my deathbed regretting things I never did'.

Celebrate my 100th birthday.

Typical, since I read the title of this thread I haven't been able to stop thinking about women. So no public contributions from me then.

I once ended up in a very very very very rough pub by doing that "dice" thing. Not good.
However I'd add the following to the list:-
* Sleep outdoors in a genuinely wild place
* See the night sky without light pollution

Theres a book called "101 Things to do before yo die", you should check it out! One of the suggestions in that was
Save a life (you can do it by blood doning, only 6% of eligible people in the UK do...)

Sadly, neither am I able... O/wise I would.
New Scientist put out a book of 100 Things to do before you die, and 5 after. (the latter were things like doning your body to science.)
