Don't be a judgemental git.
anhaga Posted Oct 17, 2008
I've just waded through eighty some new posts since a few hours ago and I've decided that there's not much point in continuing with this thread. I'll leave after reiterating my other post:
I feel like we're in the midst of the second coming
of Justin the Preacher.
Please, WGJustin, judge not, don't throw stones, don't call others to repentence -- oh, right, your nasty god tells you that you have to be a judgemental git and and lambaste us for our sins even though he also tells you not to be a judgemental git and not to through stones. Yet more of that divine consistency.
Jesus is coming back. Get ready.

~*~I'm trying to remember the HHGG quote... but can't quite remember it.~*~
"I refuse to prove I exist" says God, "for proof belies faith, and without faith I am nothing."
"But" says Man, "the Babel Fish is a dead giveaway, isn't it? It could not have evolved by chance; it /proves/ you exist, and so therefore, you don't. QED."
"Oh dear." Says God, "I hadn't thought of that."
And he disappeared in a puff of logic.

They may do, but the fragile sensitivities of the politically correct are of no concern to God. Read the book of Romans chapter 1.

Well, this is what John says:
16If anyone sees his brother commit a sin that does not lead to death, he should pray and God will give him life. I refer to those whose sin does not lead to death. There is a sin that leads to death. I am not saying that he should pray about that. 17All wrongdoing is sin, and there is sin that does not lead to death.
18We know that anyone born of God does not continue to sin; the one who was born of God keeps him safe, and the evil one cannot harm him. 19We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one. 20We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true—even in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.
21Dear children, keep yourselves from idols.

Notice the phrase, "those whose sin does not lead to death".
This implies that there is a distinction between different types of sin.

Notice also verse 18:
18We know that anyone born of God does not continue to sin; the one
who was born of God keeps him safe, and the evil one cannot harm him.
God gives you the power to stop sinning when you are born of God.

I am KZWG, aka Kuzuzhi, aka WelshGenghis. I am not Justin the preacher.
My God tells me not to judge people. It's not for me to judge anyone.
But he does tell me to call them to repentence.
God's Righteous Judgment (Romans 2)
1You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge the other, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things. 2Now we know that God's judgment against those who do such things is based on truth. 3So when you, a mere man, pass judgment on them and yet do the same things, do you think you will escape God's judgment? 4Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, tolerance and patience, not realizing that God's kindness leads you toward repentance?
5But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God's wrath, when his righteous judgment will be revealed. 6God "will give to each person according to what he has done."[a] 7To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life. 8But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger. 9There will be trouble and distress for every human being who does evil: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile; 10but glory, honor and peace for everyone who does good: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. 11For God does not show favoritism.

Love is a good thing.
When someone asked Jesus what the greatest commandment was, he answered that it was:
"Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength."
Deuteronomy 6:5
The Greatest Commandment
34Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. 35One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question:
36"Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" 37Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'[b] 38This is the first and greatest commandment. 39And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'[c] 40All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."
