h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I'm thinking of starting a new political party, and though there are many issues vying for my attention the most important thing is to get the name and slogan right, obviously. My current thought revolve around:

Insanitas - for which the slogan would be: You don't have to be mad to vote for us - but it helps!

or

Insensitas - with the slogan being: Vote for us, because we really don't care.

Any opinions, or more interesting party names, will be careful considered and may be written in the party's policy document.

The power is in your hands, hootooers!

Interesting though that name sounds, I can't see it appealing to the vast majority of voters. And some of those voters can have very vast majorities indeed.

The party always welcome fresh ideas, though. Or even slightly stale ideas well presented.

That's it! That's just the sort of self-promoting isolationist viewpoint that the electorate is crying out for at the moment. With minds like your behind the party it's sure to do well.

Surely the slogan for Incontitas would be: Our policies don't hold water? Not sure that gives out quite the right image for the party.

I do like Egotas, though it seems a little short. I'd perfer a longer name like, say, Egotisticas. Possibly slogan: Looking out for number one.

Splitas - Splitting hairs for YOU!

They could form an alliance with Viagratas and call it Coitas

If the party were about spliting hairs, I'd prefer it to be called Pedanticas. But I'm not sure that party should be about that.

The more I think about it, the more Egotisticas appeals to me. And as the founder of the party, I'm the important one, right?

Contradictas vs Stubbornas

I feel that these two names go to the heart of what the party could be about, if we really feel it makes any difference.

Either we are Contradictas, and are willing it admit that others (even within the party) may not hold the same opinions as the party heirarchy, or we are Stubbornas and believe that we are right in every regard and are unwilling to listen to other viewpoints.

Personally, I would perfer a more inclusive party. Just so long as they all do what a say.
