Perhaps the funniest story I've seen in weeks:
Abu Hamza unhappy with gay nurse
http://www.pinknews.co.uk/news/view.php?id=4734
"The Mirror reports that the hate preacher has discovered that his regular nurse for the last two years is a gay man.
Lawyers for Hamza have written to the Prison Service demanding a replacement, claiming his religious human rights are being breached by being assisted by a homosexual.
His nurse is open about being gay. He even speaks with a camp voice. His nickname is Queenie."

Labour leader Gordon Brown is the UK's new prime minister after being asked to form a government by the Queen.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/6245682.stm
This kept me awake last night. I was wondering how formal things are when Queenie asks someone to form a new government. Is it a case of: "Okay, you know the score by now, Gordon. Go do your stuff" or "One would officially ask you to initiate the steps to forming one's new government" with Gordon replying "This is the highest honour your majesty".

I'm trying to find a link to the story all over the German papers at the moment about a couple of kids who were caught having s*x on the beach. The boy (17 years old) has been imprisoned for sleeping with a minor. The girl was 13. As the girl was British, you'd think there'd be some mention somewhere in the British press. The last I hear was she's saying she hadn't consented, and his story is that she told him she was 15. So no link. Just thought you might like to know.

Oh, sorry - the whole thing happened in Turkey. Which makes it a little more of a piquant story, knowing their attitude to that sort of thing.
