They are not looking for absolution, they want answers and I don't think the search for those is guilt driven. It's not something that you can 'really try to get over'

OK, so we aren't allowed to have an opinion on whether or not the McCanns feel guilty over leaving a child alone in a flat and that child being abducted...because if I was stupid enough to do that I;d feel guilty.
Peanut: It's merely my opinion on why I think they are still pushing all of this so much. I may be wrong but it's certainly nothing libellous in anyway shape or form...although the McCanns are somewhat litigious over such comments...

The sheer amount of world-wide publicity would shirley make anyone who had abducted her feel so exposed as to not have her for very long afterwards...unfortunately.
I truely feel sorry for the young girl...a young child abducted because their parents wanted a meal out without the children.
And that is FACT, mods...fact...

Agreed..losing a child is something you don;t get over.

Losing a child when it is POSSIBLY your fault...I don't know...just that extra layer could make it even worse...not sure I could live with that over me.
And as I say many people go missing every year and there isn't this level of media interest etc...
