Most popular Eighties song?

This has been intriguing me for a while - would any of you have any ideas and suggestions as to the most commonly played 1980's song on the radio nowadays? What eighties song do you hear most often?

The ones I hear played most often are usually by that irritating Madonna woman.
The Eighties were full of forgotten pop masterpieces. Why do radio stations insist on playing cr@p?

The Cure are pretty hip at the moment. The BBC in particular seem to enjoy playing their music to advertise upcoming programmes and such. Better than listening to the Material Girl

I'm no help to you at all Woodpigeon, having spent most of the eighties up to my elbows in nappies and babies etc.
I was vaguely aware of the New Romantics.
These days, I'm very much a Radio 4/5 type of girlie.
Would there be a way of accessing radio station playlists? Or the info from some of those tv programmes looking at different decades?

What's needed is a golden-oldie radio station that has balance. They need to play more music than songs that got to the top three. I've heard enough motown for one lifetime, and a visitor to this planet would think that the Beatles didn't make any records other than their 17 number ones.

Here's my suggestions for the most played 80s:
Come On Eileen (Dexys Midnight Runners)
Girls Wanna Have Fun (Cyndi Lauper)
Imagine (John Lennon) (I realise this was initially a 70s release)
Billy Jean/Thriller (Michael Jackson)
Tainted Love (Soft Cell)
Don't You Want Me (Human League)
True (Spandau Ballet)
Red Red Wine (UB40)
Uptown Girl (Billy Joel)
Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go (Wham!)
Careless Whisper (George Michael)
The Lady In Red (Chris de Burgh)
Don't Leave Me This Way (Communards)
I Knew You Were Waiting (George Michael, Aretha Franklin)
Mistletoe and Wine (Cliff Richard)
And, needless to say, both Band Aids around Chrimbo
What do you reckon is the most played of the above?
Unfortunately my trawl has reminded me of Jive Bunny.

Not to forget A-Ha's "Take On Me" - it gets lots of TV play because of the snazzy video too!

It's a shame really, as some of the best bands might as well not have existed as far as the yoof of today is concerned.
I have been known, in the past, to buy the occasional 80s compilation CD. Why oh why oh why, though, do the compilers always pick the most obvious tracks? You'd think that Ultravox only had one hit, The Police and Queen didn't record in the 80s, and who were Fun Boy 3 anyway?

I think the Starship song was recently voted 'worst song ever' in a poll.

I was recently invited to submit an 80s top 10 to a radio station - here's what I came up with:
Don't You Want Me - The Human League
Where The Streets Have No Name - U2
The Reflex - Duran Duran
Dancing With Tears In My Eyes - Ultravox
Blue Monday - New Order
Sergeant Rock (Is Going To Help Me) - XTC
Beds Are Burning - Midnight Oil
Heart - Pet Shop Boys
Welcome To The Pleasure Dome - Frankie Goes To Hollywood
Sowing The Seeds Of Love - Tears For Fears
Not sure if they're the most-played, but I like to think I added a spark (if not the full flame) of originality, whilst maintaining radio-friendliness.
