And what do you think we call raccoons, rattlesnakes , and turkeys?

Turkeys = Thanksgiving. I know that much.

Erm, I don't know. About where I came to the conclusion I mean. We have woodpeckers over here, I've seen them.

I guess peck, chuck, chuck key, drill, woodpeckers sound like a drill. You know, random word association.

My kind of weirdo smiley - devil. I would thought woodchuck=woodpecker to be a fairly easy mistake to make, if one didn't have anything else to go on, beyond the name.

A small burrowing creature...

Ok. I believe you.

Well, what about the name woodchuck suggests 'small burrowing creature', and does it really sound interesting enough to warrant further investigation? smiley - winkeye

Its just that to me, woodchuck sounds like some small beaver type burrowing thing. Its the same, to me pilchard always sounded like a fruit rather than a fish.

And people accuse me of being strange? What does goat sound like to you? A root vegetable?

In America at least, a goat is a sort of short cotton scarf.

If you're not taking the piss, then I advocate the immediate nuking of America, for crimes against the English language.

?

Post 33

That's ok because 'nuking' in American English means 'bestowing gifts, food, wine, and virgins in a gracious and reverential manner'.

Oh good, in that case "get lost you annoying pillcock" means "Joy, what a humourous wit you are!", in English smiley - winkeye

Isn't language a curious thing.

One wonders why everyone get so upset when American politicians suggest nuking Iraq. It's a much nicer process than everyone seems to think.

Hi , I think I need some serious professional mental help, or is it possible people are using you in a real life text adventure . ?

Hi

Not sure what you mean. But building on what I said earlier... I think the world would be a better place if nuking became the cornerstone of US foreign policy, while telling everyone to "get lost you annoying pillcock" and wearing goats.

Hi

The Snockerty Friddle

It has been proven beyond all reasonable celery that the world would be a much better place if all the rattlesnakes ate the parsnips and turkeys didn't sing songs about chucking wood

Err, isn't that US policy already, Thea?

Hi

Quite, but due to a language issue, everyone thinks it's a bad thing and won't let the US act on it. What does nuking mean over there?
