In the case of my son I don't think he had a choice. Although he would never admit it I truly believe he was afraid of the kids in school and even on the bus. In any case the internet setup was put together for those students that had a problem going to school but were willing to do their classes on line. The 
is a very bright child and should he apply himself could easily be an all "A" student.
As for the wonders - the horrors of Asia has shown what man can do under extreme situations. Why do we need extreme circumstances to get along. I remember after a blizzard in '78 how walking to a local market everyone was cheery, helping each other, talking to each other. A month later - no one appear to know anyone. A true wonder would be if the nations could build the wonders together.

Oh, you are SO right - what can I possibly add to that.
Everyone you meet says they think the same, but no-one puts it into practice.
