>NZ women to be the slappers of all time<
You'd think the men had nothing to do with it.....
This is another example I think of religious inspired negativity aimed at women. Where else does this double standard attitude come from in relation to women being judged more harshly than men when it comes to having sex? The woman is viewed as the temptress That film, I mentioned earlier, 'Breaking the Waves', illustrates most clearly the view of woman as almost satanic and full of uncontrollable sexuality, that poor men fall under her spell.

From the blog of a male Christian.
'However, all of these experiences are making me wonder if women are capable of truly understanding the virtue of fidelity and the sanctity of life and reproduction. As a result I am starting to understand why so many women fail to see the depravity of the homosexual act.'

Note, he says, 'women', like the whole lot of us, not 'some women'.

That idea of female natural wickedness is still around. And sadly, women also attack others with those words.
***
The story of the Virginity of Mary is, not only science-fiction, but quite harmful.
There's an entry here ( I didnt write down its number) about some basic facts from Catholicism.
I wrote down some words:
" The Church teaches that she had no sexual relationships with Joseph"
" The doctrine teaches that Mary was kept free from the stain of Original Sin (...)Catholics believe that Mary remained sinless(...)"
Beside the unnatural fact that a couple dont do sex, if they can; there is the harmful idea that sex is a sin, " Mary remained sinless"
What make me wonders is why they* feel so confident to talk about or to dictate behaviours about sexuality if they have no idea about real practical sex.

Hi Effers that blog is really good! I never thought such blogs could be so funny.
He starts with " I have recently been deeply disturbed..." after reading the text you think he should say " I wish I had been deeply mas-turbed"
" the attack on the male digit..."
Digit?! tell me that that is not a dictionary synonym but it belongs to his idiolect, please.
" the penis is essentially a symbol of manhood"
Poor man, a symbol of manhood!!! He lacks of sexual education absolutely.
Some Women suffers from "misopenis" he says.
Im sure he was upset because his friend didnt invite him to that Night Hens Party!

Yes and I think NZ in general is the kind of place crying out for western European atheist woman to arrive creating maelstrom and creative chaos of many varieties, wherever they go........

I like the way that guy 'forgave' the woman who had taken part in a penis game that had nothing to do with him!
btw re: Mary being free from sin: it's not actually related to her sexual activity (or lack of!) it comes under the doctrine of the Immaculate Conception which explains how anyone could be holy enough to bear the son of God despite the fact that we're all marked with sin (doctirne of Original Sin). God intervened so, unlike the rest of us poor saps, Mary was conceived *without* original sin.
This is not to say that Church teaching on the point does give a rather skewed view on sex but just to clear up a minor point of misunderstanding!
What he would have done if she'd made a free-will decision not to bear the child is another interesting question to encourage children to bring up in religion class

Mr. Chesswas of the Put up your Sword (is that a joke?) blog could have saved a lot of time if he had simply admitted that he drives a Hummer, if you get my meaning. The boy's got some problems of a distinctly Freudian sort.

Hi PP, I've googled in the Catholic Encyclopaedia.
In the Ineffabilis Deus, 1854, Pio IX wrote:
" the subject of this inmunity from the Original Sin is Maria in the moment of the creation of her soul and infusion of her body (...) The formal active essence of the Original Sin wasn't removed as it happen when you are baptised (sp? Im translating from Spanish) but she was excluded"
I would advice theologians not to explain religion. It can't be more absurd.
In any case, they claim she didn't have sex with his husband. How can be that a virtue?!!
Chastity is a sexual perversion, said someone a few centuries ago

`I'm not arguing that it's weird but that's the doctrine I was taught although the one you quoted does seem to disagree... a later pope may have updated the doctrine? Which one is infallibly correct though
The Times has an article on scientists discussing whether science makes God obsolete (warning to atheists: a lot of them are believers!). I thought it was quite interesting!

Only you could think that! I am besmirching no one... I merely questioned the mechanism of killing kids with milk, and suggesting that your informants were perhaps a little naive. I specifically said they weren't lying, but might be gullible.
That question *is* you being your usual sweet self, isn't it?
You never said you were talking about neonates! But even so, my mother fed her babies full cream milk, and we were not great strapping Amazonian rugby players in the making, but five tiny English babies, living in NZ..
Get real!

It's not usually put so bluntly, EtB. Can't you see how *nasty* and revolting that sounds? People drown superfluous kittens. Now, they kill, dispose of, throw away "unwanted child(ren)." That by you, is an unalloyed good? At least you're stating honestly what you're advocating - couples who can't be bothered using contraception, getting rid of the result of casual sex. How vile, and you call it good!
<>
How can you live with yourself? How can you look at your children, know they were simply lucky? They were "wanted".
