Help i need rose petals to decorate my wedding invitations i had ordered some from conffetti (wedding website) but they turned out to be fabric and look awful and i'd decided that i wanted to put a petal on the front of my inivtation. So does anyone know where i can get real dried rose petals from? Not red ones preferable lilac coloured (i know its not a common rose colour but they can be died).

are you sure this is a good idea? I mean, dried ones will crumble in the mail. have you thought about buying some cheap roses and pressing the petals?

dried dried ones like the rose buds you get for pot porri would crumble but i'm sure you can get some still... well i guess not dried that are still flexible.

I did think about drying some myself but i do need quite a few.

My daughter was bought a microwave flower press for xmas. It came from 'Lakeland'.She's not interested in it but I tried it on rose petals and they dry within 6 minutes. The longer you leave them in the micro the crisper they get, if you need them flexible do them less. The color doesnt fade as with ordinary pressing either.

There is a company in the UK called something like 'The candle company'who do really cheap dried rose heads. I don't know if this is useful at all. I think they have a website but I can't remember it.
I suppose it depends on the quality you are looking for. You do realise what you're letting yourself in for by doing your own invites. I hope you're not inviting too many people.(I did that once)

Have you googled for freeze dried rose petals?

I bought some boxes of dried rose petals for my wedding, and they were fine. Apparently, if you get your bathroom nice and steamy and put the dried petals in there for 20 minutes or so they become re-hydrated to some degree and therefore softer.

Good luck with the wedding organisation - I found that however simple I tried to keep my wedding, I ended up getting stressed about the smallest, most stupid details.
Just remember at the end of the day, the little details aren't so important as you think, the fact that you're marrying the one you love is the only thing that matters.

I put rose petals in with our wedding invitations. They were sold as natural confetti and I got them locally in Guildford. It was just over 3 years ago and I can't remember exactly which shop I got them from, but I know I didn't have to search high and low.

Thanks for your help time is running out as i wanted to have them ready to post at the begining of March (ha!) so I've eventually come up with a simpler and probably cheaper method which is acceptable to the other half which is to get a lilac gell pen and just draw a heart on the front of the cream card.
