It is a leap year - how is a girl supposed to propose?
Florida Sailor All is well with the world Posted Feb 14, 2004
Actually my now wife and I were talking one afternoon and she casually mentioned she might agree to marry me. A few hours and serious conversation went by before I proposed...
Two more years and celebrate the quarter century mark and we are still going strong.
Good luck and don't think you have to wait for a special day. Most women don't stop to think that men face the same dilemma 365 days a year.
Just another

I got drunk and got the missus drunk and proposed on one knee outside the pub after closing time.
Her reply was your drunk and I don't believe you mean it.
I asked her again at 11 next day, getting down on one knee to her in my mothers dining room, and she said yes.
That's about as romantic as a lad fae Fife gets

Serious suggestion...why not fly the boyfriend out to wherever you're being flown to, book a table in romantic restaurant, get down on bended knee, and pop the question? Have a ring handy purely as a symbol (needn't be too spenny)?

Because the 29th is a sunday - he'll have to fly home after. One or both of us is flying on the Sunday
I could bring him out for the weekend and do it after midnight on saturday night though.
The more I think about it the less likely I am to do anything about it! I think that my fantasy proposal doesn't have me doing the asking, I want it to be perfect and that means he has to ask me. I really want for us to get married but I think I'd prefer to wait for him to get around to proposing. I'm not afraid he might say no, it just doesn't fit with the picture in my head. We are together, I can wait for the fancy frock and party

Kelli you said that "I told him all the flights have been cancelled my boyfriend went all shifty and said that might upset his plans, he wouldn't tell me what those plans were though" perhaps HE'S got engagement ideas of his own
Anyway I wish you good luck

Oh yes, for the ladies in this thread that did do the asking - did you feel that you missed out on anything? That is my biggest stumbling block really.

Problem solved - he asked me first
I had a ring all ready, we had a lovely romantic dinner then a drink in our local and a chilly stroll home. Was planning to ask him just after midnight but he beat me to it huge

Oh congratulations Agapanthus, did you do the proposing? I might join you in a sniffle, am at that walking-on-air stage now - so happy I might burst
He was going to ask me on St Valentines day on the surprise weekend he had planned, but I scuppered that by getting trapped in the snow in Athens. Poor lad, had got himself all built up (he had even been to visit my folks without my knowing to 'ask' my dad) only to have me call and say I couldn't come!
It must have been killing my mum to keep quiet about it ever since

Wow, congratulations Kelli!
There's something missing though - you need the animal print sofa as seen in your Personal Space graphic before your life will be complete!
All the very best to you and your bloke
