This statement was made in a meeting to demonstrate something-or-other. One of my colleagues immediately disproved it.

Well, it's impossible (discarding any serious physical trauma) for ME to lick my own elbow.

so distilled water doesn't conduct electricity?
useless facts
Baron Grim Posted Jul 23, 2007
Not exactly... the minerals in the water IONIZE the water molecules, allowing them to conduct electricity.

A Super Furry Animal Posted Jul 23, 2007
That still doesn't get to the nub of the problem as distilled water contains *no* minerals.
Pure water is still capable of ionisation, but does so at a much lower rate than water containing impurities.

Depressing, but I'm one of the 264,012 - and if I don't do my job, no-one in Suffolk gets their prescriptions.

Pete the Pup, from Our Gang (The Little Rascals) was an American Pit Bull Terrier. Contrary to popular belief, Pit Bulls are a very friendly breed when not abused.
Also, the dog that portrayed Pete was same dog featured in Buster Brown shoe ads and comics.

Americans are responsible for about 1/5 of the world’s garbage annually. On average, that’s 3 pounds a day per person.

Back in the 1950's my aunt was a seamstress. She sold dresses for $5 each. She took some to a big department store. They told her they couldn't sell her dresses for $5 but they could sell plenty at $25.

Here are the percentage distribution of the "answers" from a magic 8 ball (tm).
* 50% Positive (e.g. "Yes - Definitely")
* 25% Negative (e.g. "My Sources Say No")
* 25% Vague (e.g. "Better Not Tell You Now")

Walking down hill can be harder on the body than walking up hill.

Baron Grim Posted Aug 14, 2007
Now that sounds almost useful.
From personal experience, West Virginians tend to walk around hills counterclockwise. (As a flat lander, you discover this when your legs start hurting and you try to get your hillbilly relatives to walk with their other leg uphill... before you ever noticed the change in direction, you're walking counterclockwise again.)
