It's the Universal movies monster bunch...which makes major Jekyll and Hyde (remember his little fits of pique? ) and Hague Abbott and/or Costello.

I rather think that John Major would be a zombie ( walking undead except for Edwina )!
I like to think of William Hague as Dobby from the Harry Potter stories.
A good line else where on the BBC sites - " everyone will be the leader of the Tory party for 15 minutes "
So all you sceptics out there, you will get your turn eventually!

And the really galling thing from your point of view Kerr is that you *clearly* can't blame the man in the hush puppies this time around. All down to Lord Voldemort and his undead legions...

for Steve Bell's hilarious take on it. For those not familiar with the Fuselli original, it's entitled 'The Sleep of Reason (breeds little monsters)'...

I'm not impressed. Particularly as it was really quite a close vote to get rid of him. 75 MPs still supported him, but he is disqualified from running for the leadership again, but I'll bet the horrible little can't claim to have the support of 75 MPs

Tory Democracy at its finest. The first 'fully' democratically elected leader from the membership with 156,000 votes is ousted two years later by 90 of his closest friends and colleagues. C'est magnifique.

As I'm this threads unofficial bookmaker, I'd like to announce that this morning the odds on a Labour victory at the next election have been slashed from 1/2 to 1/5

Thats a bit rich. I think Howard will struggle to overcome the taint of Thatcher and the prison debacle. The media despise him and one fool in a Tory association said 'Maybe a little fear is a good thing'.
But not in the electorate, methinks.

Precisely. The 'something of the night' quote and his refusal to answer Paxo's questions is a millstone around his neck that people have not forgotten. It is going to come back and haunt him.
Heck, it's already back and haunting him in this thread and ain't even leader yet!

Understandably Keer this thread has picked up a head of steam since everyone got into work.

Me too. I misread Greydesks post.
I presume, by the way that the new official Tory colours are Orange and Black, in order to celebrate the glorious Hallowe'en Revolution... I look forwatrd to seeing theresa may appearing as Moriticiaa Adams at a hustings near me soon.

Well, given that he's already said he won't run and was seen plotting with...sorry, I mean 'talking to' Lord Voldemort only yesterday afternoon that seems a little unlikely.

David Davis' statement is precisely why you can't get a price anywhere on Howard becoming the next leader. As soon as he said it all the books closed and the bookmakers have retired from the field hurt.

Err, until two days ago was saying he wouldn't run. Davis has until the 6th to change his mind.
No chance of a deal with Howard anyway- he's still smarting from the last time he tried that trick.
Key: Complain about this post
