Yup, I'd agree partially, TB is holding the political centre ground - politically and economically roughly where the country needs to be...
The problem is that he's completely lost the trust of the people of britain due to spin/Iraq/unelected powercrazy officials... etc...
At present the Tory Party is just a joke, that's one of the reasons the turnout for the last election was so low, what they need now is someone to make people sit up and realise that the tories are still alive and haven't all drifted off to sleep in the commons... once that's been set up then they could virtually fight the next election on a 'negative manifesto' - slagging off everything bad about TB's government

I've heard Ann Widdecombe can pack the booze away like a good 'un. Apparently she's a bit of a go-er after a few hooches.... alledgedly.

Shes stalks the men during the day too, so there is no rest bite. And she can come on rather strong too

Sorry I seemed to have scared myself too. Ok it was all a big lie.... shes not a go-er, she doesn't drink and she certainly doesnt run around single mens homes at night wearing a phalic device around her waist. Clare short on the other hand........

On the verge of all hallows eve, I guess Widde is going to be the female tory version of Fester Adams?

I reckon we should get rid of democracy as we know it and replaced it with the leaders of the 2 main partys engaging in the drinking competition in Indiana Jones and Raiders of the Lost arc. Maybe even have a few creepy nazis hanging around for atmosphere????

liquidsword, you are one warped individual. Congrats
Back to the point, though...
Can anyone suggest a decent alternative to our current political situation, viz. A single, overbearing party in power, a self-destructing primary opposition and a secondary opposition that lacks serious credibility?
Suggestions welcome.

A system of government bases on the principle of strange women lying in ponds distributing swords seems fair to me
