Oh, please! Everyone knows that everywhere in Canada other than Vancouver and Victoria (and a few spots in between) is frozen over for nine months of the year! Otherwise why would we call snow *Albino Grass*??

the japanese are fond of pointing out that Japan has four distinct season, as if this was somehow unique. I used to tell my language students here that Canada had five. Hockey season, syrup season, flooding season, mosquito season and deer season on some days and Summer, Spring, Fall, Winter and Bob on other days - Bob being the season where the sun disappears for a couple of weeks and its so cold the sled dogs in Toronto freeze to the fire hydrants.

Really! Having worked there a few times, I found their apreciation of ice limited to mixed drinks. (well....except for the half a jet attached to a wall above an ice rink where you could drink and watch people skating....but that is another story...)
