I think Gnomon got it straight: loud; drink like the Irish. 
About the sheep: Australia, New Zealand and Wales - the country where I was raised - are all assumed to indulge in sheep-sh*gging. I wouldn't worry about it. The English prefer to keep such practices 'in the family'.... [Where do you think their royal family developed the habit of marrying only their own relatives? ]
